What’s so cool and endearing about watching Max play a fighting game is that he’s a very respectable player. He doesn’t get overly mad or heated, at least not at his opponent. Not only that, he constantly points out when his opponent does something good, whether it’s a flashy string of combos or a game-changing response to the pressure he places on them. It’s oddly calming and relaxing in its own way.

I like that SF6 is less about just destroying your opponent's health bar like in SFV and more about creating opportunities to whittle away your opponent's resources and place them into checkmate situations. This game looks so much more tactical and requires actual thought. Almost seems like someone at Capcom took the flowchart jokes personally.

Not the deformed ones. Those are obviously people who aren't artistly creative. Not a bad thing, they can make their avatars look the way they want. As someone who likes to draw, i'd be up in there- having a ball for a good minute. I always wanted capcom to implement something on this scale into SF, and they finally did it. Very nice.

The videos I've been seeing of folks playing the beta have been amazing, everybody's beastin! One thing I hope Capcom does is add more Rival Schools characters to the game for DLC; bringing back Akira would be awesome, but also Edge. I feel like they'd fit the more hip aesthetic that SF6 has.

Changing Juri's fireball to something where you do the move once to get the stock rather than having to hold down a button was a really good call.

I preferred her being able to 'hold' the fire all back in SF4 because she could do it across the ground, mid and upward angled to catch jumps. It allowed for an interesting mind game where your opponent had to guess which angle you were hanging onto...if you even had one stored. It just going across the ground now as the only option feels far less interesting to me.

At the moment, I don't quite remember other fighting games but I don't recall a more rewarding watch than now when I can actually feel combos connecting as a rewarding comeback against an opponent. In other fighting games, when the life bar would change color I would panic (as an audience only participant coz I don't play fighting games). Here, even with a low life bar, it's anybody's game. I really feel it coz those connected combos are hella rewarding when they hit coz the comeback from that feels so exciting. You end up with an equal playing field and the stakes are high and it leaves me anticipating with bated breath who would end up getting that last hit. WHEW! This beta is so fun to watch. Don't know if I explained it well. I've always just watched fighting games and never really played them. This diamond level matches were super fun.

Sf6's neutral seems more refreshing with the drive gauge, sf5's neutral got kinda stale after a while for me. I enjoyed playing ranked up until the silver-gold transition. For v-reversal you'd just make the read and grab, v-shifts were a nice addition to get away but never felt like that much of a pay off. Looking forward to maining Ryu again, and maybe trying Chun-Li, Kimberly, or Jamie. Everyone looks fun in 6 so far

And You didn't try Strive? That's too bad, Strive is the perfect starting point. It still is. But go ahead and try SFVI open Beta if it happens. Don't be scared. It's only hard for a time. And Ken, Ryu, Luke, Chun-Li and most of Street Fighters characters are like, perfect characters to figure out what FG are about.

I really like how SF6 is more slow-paced compared to the previous games... It could be because the players are still getting a feel on the gameplay, but currently i like it.

I wanted to get back into fighting games and use a fight stick, but I've been having a hard time finding a good one for PC. It seems like Windows games use one input and Steam uses another and I can never remember which is which. I saw a few videos talk about how you have to mod fight sticks in order to make them work on PC too.. (something about having to swap the wires for some buttons?) anyone know what @Maximilian Dood has been using in the streams, or have a suggestion on one?

honestly majority of USB arcade sticks are practically just plug & play on PC. all fighting games let you map your buttons so you shouldnt need to rewire anything even if theyre arranged weird.

o and btw i think max uses a razer atrox. razer is pretty pricey though. imo mayflash f500 or f300 are really good cheaper options, and swapping out buttons is really easy on those if you ever want to customize those.

16:58 Is it just me is is Ken's face disappearing? Look at his face after he lands on the ground after the super. It's gone. The lighting in this stage makes it weird but after he lands he just doesn't have a texture on his face edit: I've look at this frame by frame over and over. I can kinda see his eyebrows but no skin. Then once he enters a new animation his face reappears
