None of Diamond Rio's songs ever get old! I can listen to them over and over and over again! I had the great pleasure of seeing them in concert in our little one horse town back in 2000 at our covered bridge fall festival! There couldn't have been more than 200 folks there but they sang and played like there were 20,000!! They put on one heck of a show and got to get up close and personal with them! My husband was on crutches but he made his way to the concession stand (I had no idea where he was going.....said he had to potty) and bought me a Diamond Rio T-shirt. That was in 2000 and I still have it! I was just a mere baby at age 42 then. I lost my husband, New Years Eve will be a year ago, to a massive heart attack so I cherish it even more now! Love you DIAMOND RIO and Miss you Jim!!

I wish people would stop with the "That's real country music" comments. You realize that you feel that way because it's what was on the radio in your prime, right? The generations before us thought this was crap and their music was "real country" too. Every genre constantly evolves and we can't stop it. If you don't like today's music, that's totally fine, but just because it's not for you doesn't mean it's not for someone else. You can appreciate what you like without bashing the things you don't. We would all do better to remember that.

I know this is the unlikeliest of comparisons, but I draw a lot of parallels between Diamond Rio and another old favorite of mine, the Beach Boys....... I know, that doesn't sound right but think about it. In a world that is destitute of vocal harmonies, both provided them at the highest level, and effortlessly. Both were embarrassingly underrated, even within their own genra. Neither band depended on a heart-throb image or mystique. They rose on pure music and vocals. And face it, there was such a positive vibe to their music, you just felt good after hearing it.
