It is sad to see how hard this drought is hitting Texas. Glad you were able to get some use out of it. I am a fellow rock collector. Have been collecting since I was a kid. I have lots of stones and crystals. I don't have an ammonite yet but they are so neat. Stay hydrated and cool in this heat.

Random. NW missouri. Found a partial ammonite eroded out of a field on a hilltop. I know erosion is detrimental to environmental health but man j would love to see what is under alllllll this dirt.

My husband would be in heaven, he teaches fossils and minerals, etc at the Clyde Austin 4-H Center in Greeneville, Tn. And is a collector ! The kids call him the Rock Guy 😆. We started collecting by accident years ago in Nebraska, started finding fossilized camel and horse bone and now since then this is His ❤️ Love Thank You for Sharing

I took geology in high school and many classes at a university. A very interesting subject. We went to a small abandoned rock quarry in the city of Chicago. The place was loaded with fossils of creatures and plants that we had learned about. The gang bangers in the neighborhood had no idea what was in their backyard.

That giant black rock could definitely be a piece of the meteorite that created the Gulf of Mexico and wiped out the dinosaurs…. Take a 4” grinder with you next time and cut off a little section and check the inside with a magnifier if there’s little flecks of metal and it Is a meteorite you can retire great adventure and finds thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼

@@fingernailplays5602 Well that's not really a valid objection. There is most likely ejecta from that impact hurtling through space at this very moment and on the moon! The iridium layer from that meteorite was first noticed in Italy iirc. The Tanis fossil site in Colorado has fish with glass spherules (silicate particles from vaporized rock).

It makes me happy to see you back out at ammonite creek. Its such a magical place and its so weird to see the water levels so low! But good for seeing those ammonites that would be under feet of water. Im sorry the drought is so bad there. I hope you guys will be getting some rain this fall early! You guys need it so badly! hang in there! Remember to hydrate frequently, and take frequent safety meeting!

I found the strangest looking rock formation in a Canyon that was once carved out by a massive glacier back in the day. Those fossils your finding are truly incredible. Thanks for sharing... Hope you get some rain soon.

Great finds again. It’s the same in Australia we’re either flooded out, in a drought or wild fires and the temperatures are 35-42 degrees. Take care and thank you for sharing 👍👏❤️
