The SA-1 mod for Gradius 3 removes almost all of the slowdown.

70008810: set loop number to 16.
701E2003: Set Difficulty to Arcade
These are only for the SA-1 version.

I realized a little while ago that using Laser is a cheap way of doing it, with its janky hitbox, example starting at 7:25. I am considering redoing it without any laser powerup.
