It kinda makes you think. If we were telling ourselves the truth. Is this what Jesus would have wanted from us? Personally, I doubt it... But as a hypocrite who writes heavy metal myself. I often wonder... I stink at singing... Lets just face it. But if I scream something.... It better be something Jesus would have screamed while in agony on that cross... It would have to be screams of sorrow and surrender rather than screams of anger and rebellion. Otherwise, why scream at all... I think the main problem with heavy metal is that it tends to be very dark heavy and brooding. Especially in a dark heavy and brooding time... But if you pay attention to the cries of those in the bible their not unlike heavy metal songs... Mordecai job Naomi and many others in the bible express their grief and concern and guilt and anguish... So I say if you do it... Please be very careful not to do it in a way that worships God for something he is not... Otherwise it could be a bit anti christian to represent a false Christ in place of Christ. Even as a musical artist myself. I even find screaming to be offensive and hard to listen to... Yet unique and fascinating.... When painting pictures, even the bible uses the color black to portray evil or wrong.... Without some representation of laying out an example, where would we be right???

I’m also in a Pentecostal\Non Denom\Full Gospel church, I’m not bound to religion and works, I love many Christian Metal artists, I am just confused of why you are rolling your eyes in the back of your head while growling. Again, I’m all for the growls and screams, Holy Spirit filled lyrics, etc., but we have to be so careful in these days with who are wolves among sheep.
