Mr. Boring!!! At the time of making this review Kenny had life ending Cancer. He has since passed away and will be missed. He was a good and honest man and taught me a lot about Airguns. Only a fool would take the time to post a comet like yours. Grow up. If you don’t like his reviews don’t watch.......

I just rebuilt my magnun 350. Found out that vortek black delrin guide can hang up on cocking shoe and crumple and crack. Now new ones are steel. My first spring kit. I managed to getr done! No blogs mentioned the cocking shoe wedging under the delrin guide. Experience teaches best! I ordered a d&l airgun spring guide kit and maccari spring. We will see how it works for my rws 34. I know more now! Their moly lube is a slick paste. Less expensive than other suppliers! Fun to build a spring compressor with a C clamp cutt off end.I .needed a 6 inch to get a new spring and trigger assembly in easier. Hard to cock this diana350. You did very well tough guy! Hoho!!!!!!!

Thank you for such a professional review. I acquired one of these rifles about two months ago and had the same problems with the screws. In my case I sent the gun to a professional tuner who corroborated my doubts as to the length of the main screw, turned out to be too short and hardly has enough treads for a good grip. That screw was changed and as to the forearm screws the anchor to those was loose from factory. The gun inside had the top hat that was too small for the piston, it was replaced with one that didn’t wobble. As for the piston seal it was scratched while being mounted in the factory, so it was also replaced by a custom made one made of delrin. Before this tuneup the gun was a real disaster shooting , I love Diana rifles and have a collection of them so I was willing to put money into the gun. Now the Ntec 350 is shooting excellent , pushing the CP 14.3 at 96O FPS and capable of hitting 2x2” inch targets at 50 plus yards with ease- groups at 20 yards are in the same ballpark as yours. I find that the rifle although it is very strenuous too cock it compensates for that fact in that it shoots with very little kickback and hardly any torsion. I traded a first generation Marauder for this gun and feel no remorse, of course I’m a die hard Diana fan. My thoughts on the reason this fine rifle came with so many faults is that I believe the new owners of Diana in a rush to put out a nitro piston version of the 350 legend did not give the project enough research and development- MHO. As for recommending the gun I would say beware it’s a beauty and can shoot fine but it come with a lot of hassles not suitable for beginners. My gun is the model with the black wood stock, the finishing is like velvet , it has on the tube under Diana the word BLACK in bold letters - I believe this model is not sold in the USA. My conclusion is that if you’re going to spend that type of money on a Diana and your not a fan like me , the best bet is the Diana 350 mag in .22 metal spring and if you want the same groups install a Vortek PG2 kit- I have one in 22 and 177 they are excellent.

Gas rams (Nitro piston) are only suited to some guns and are usually built around the Gas ram, Since Theoben went under and the patent's went world wide every tom and dick thought it would be great to put the Gas ram in their flimsy springer's with no thought to the R and D that should go with the heavy discharge of such a power plant, and its no wonder or shock, excuse the pun, that they fall to bits, those platforms were never meant or designed for a Gas ram. I remember when Theoben built struts that could be fitted to almost anything, problems were being thrown up then and that was with british and german guns, screws coming loose and so on, because they were not designed for that violent double recoil, and now they are in 70 dollar plinkers, the mind boggles !

hunter100t Excellent information. This is my first experience with gas rams and I felt like I was betraying my Diana springers when this 350 Ntec was offered to me. I traded a Marauder for it , PCPs are ok but I enjoy the practicality and dependability of springer. I have a Diana 460 mag 22 that shoots just as well as any PCP in that caliber- I’m not into 100 yard shots 50 is about my max and these Diana’s can hit a nickel with the force of a large hammer at that distance without having to be lugging around a 4500 psi tank.

I use both springers and PCPs and yes you spend more time making sure the PCP is just so rather than just picking up old faithful and heading out. my longest rabbit shot with a 32 ftlb rifle was with a HW TB 90 on a windless day and was 146 yards, a perfect head shot, but like yourself most are taken within 50, now that rifle was built around the gas ram, it was heavy and solid german engineering and is almost 9 lb unscoped but you need it to absorb that recoil from the gas ram that takes no prisoners. I have Theobens from when they first came out and more modern PCPs, but I love the springers for their simplicity and efficiency and no molly coddling approach. when I go out with one of my PCPs the back up gun is a springer just in case a seal might decide to let go and ruin the outing. later bud.

Thank you Kenny excellent review. I acquired a D350 Ntec cal .22 about a year ago , mine has a black wooden stock. I traded a Benjamin Marauder 22 for it , the Marauder was always leaking and I’m a springer fan more so if they are Diana’s. What you say about the screws coming loose was an irritating problem with my gun to the point that I had mine tuned by a professional airgun smith. The problem was that the large screw in front of the trigger guard turned out to be too short , it was changed for a longer one and also glued with locktite . As for the forearm screws they were changed as well for Allen head screws also a bit longer and also glued. As for the inside parts mine had a forward top hat that was a bit loose , it was replaced by a new one made of delrin to the correct size. The tune job cost me $100 and I had it done because I’m a die hard Diana fan. The D350 Ntec after the tune has given me no problems with the screws and as you say it’s a tack driver and a very powerful one at that . Mine is shooting very accurately the CP 14.3s at over 930 FPS . The trigger on mine is very nice and smooth. Cocking effort is heavy duty. I put a muzzle break on mine made out of 4 inches of a piece of black Craftman garden hose and believe it or not it fit snug and tight , no slippage, and it doesn’t look bad at all. I have to add one very important positive detail about this rifle : it has virtually no kick or torsion compared to the D350 spring model in .22 mine is hardly hold sensitive and as yours it a tack driver. I also would not recommend this rifle to the regular person looking for a good hunting air rifle because of the issues with the screws and the heavy cocking effort. My take on these problems is that the new owners of Diana in the rush of getting this so called flagship out to market committed the sin of not testing it sufficiently. On the matter of quality of materials, blueing and all around looks the rifle is simply beautiful. As for practicality for hunting I will have to admit that I’d rather grab my D350 mag 22 springer with its TO6 trigger and it’s Vortek PG2 kit , it gives me around 850 FPS with the CP 14.3s very accurate and much easier to cock. The 350 Ntec will stay in my collection it’s a fine gun. I’ve been hesitant about buying the Diana 340 Ntec in .177 because of the problems with the screws.

I have one of these Beasts and it is a Beast, This was the 1st Diana I have brought and will be the last .The QC at Diana leaves a-lot to be desired. I had to swap 3 times until I got one that was up to the standard for the price they ask for in NZ($900) .The 1st one had damage to the stock and was stained with what I assume to be paint. The 2nd one pretty much fell apart in my hands. I contacted Diana in Germany and they couldn't be any less interested. If you do buy one make sure you inspect it all over before paying the cash. I am very Happy with the 350 .22cal I have, just a pity it took 3 goes at it.

On the front sight issue you could MAYBE use that thread locker that is milder than the blue??? I cant remember what color... Purple Maybe? ...but maybe that would hold it but without having any issues unscrewing it if need be? Just an idea. You would surely know better i would assume.

As usual, great video review. All of the over priced, big name air rifles are just for show & tell... I wouldn't waste my money buying any them when there are so many other more reasonably priced, definitely more powerful & better looking air rifles offered everywhere.

Just curious but what elevation are you at Kenny? Are you closer to sea level to get those values? I bought some of the rifles you reviewed and I am getting consistently about 80-100 fps lower than your readings. I think it has to do with the elevation I'm at which is 5800 ft above sea level in Colorado. Was wondering what elevation you are at when testing with your chrony.

He passed away, did you clean the barrel ? Tried silicone chamber oil? If it doesnt work maybe you need to add some weight to the barrel (my Nitro Piston loves it ) Or you got a bad one? Why you dont like it ( I dont own one) If it is new you may need to break it in and clean the factory oil from the barrel

It's a magnum springer. High powered springers are probably the most challenging thing to shoot accurately bar none. Don't be discouraged, it's a rifle capable of great accuracy if you get your technique right. Artillery hold. Learn it. Many springers like a very light touch, let them move, but some prefer a firm hold. Work on diagnosing what is throwing your shots off. What direction they are being thrown off in indicates what you're doing wrong with your trigger finger. Breath in, let out a third of your breath and then hold it before firing. Experiment with different pellets, every barrel is different, and may like a different pellet, even if they are from the same production run on the same day. Don't worry about where the pellets hit when trying different pellets, only focus on the groupings, because every pellet will group in a different spot. Zero for the pellet that gives you the best grouping.
