The original singer of this song, Linda has her very unique body language, broken and ticking as you call it. So I think Diana is trying to imitate that original song style here. But Diana gave this song a second breath for sure due to her magic voice. You can watch original Linda Crow version to see the difference. This song is too small for Diana but everything she touches becomes a masterpiece

There is a video ofher performance with dancers dressed as black crows and she was in white. Seeing the dance and her actions gave some clarity into the story. Her movements are those she used in the other video interacting with the dancers. Do you think Diana did both the falsetto yodel and the deep throat drop in the last few seconds of the song??

I'm going to watch the video again but the jodel falsetto is characterized by going from chest voice to head voice.... I remember, in his first "song" it was chest.... and in the last "head" but there was no passage between the two... I don't doubt that he could do it, but it doesn't seem to me that he wanted to. I'm still going to check it out. The "squawk" of the bird sounded as it should, I don't know if that change would have been good.
