Many singers do not even attempt to sing this because it has a very heavy legacy in minds of the people who love Vysotsky especially because it sounds like his Swan song. As others said you missed the ending where she says that even her own people advised her to not bother with this song, but in my opinion she nailed it like no other, one of my personal favorites of hers. I would dare say it is a masterpiece, and i do not even like slow poetry songs.

Я читала перевод на английский и мне он показался каким-то куцым и немного примитивным. Уж не обезсудьте. Русский очень богатый язык.
