I appreciate the uniqueness of her vocals, but she's always struck me as more of a Laurie Anderson-like performance artist rather than a pure vocalist (as good as her vocals are). It's the combination of her voice and the visuals she surrounds herself with that make her renditions so remarkable. At the moment she's around number 4 on my list of must-follow artists. I've got Angelina Jordan on the top by a mile, then Amira Willighagen (wowed the entire world with her audition on Norway's Got Talent at 9 years old with a self-taught opera song - another one to add to your list of voices to listen to, if she isn't already on there.
