The guy who stood up, and who was invited to make the first comment on Diana's performance, was the guest judge for episode #1 of this nine-episode TV contest, Yusif Eyvazov, an operatic tenor of international reknown and the husband of Anna Netrebko, one of the world's greatest operatic sopranos. His fulsome praise carries great weight. Though there are some wonderful singers in the classical world (which is where I too come from), Diana is indeed _very_ special. She sings in very many styles, genres and languages. Her performance in episode #3 of "Oh, it is not yet evening" - a folk song that is etched deep into Russian lore - is even more impressive. Her own favourite from the contest is her performance in episode #7 of "The Crow." It displays the timbres and colours - completely different from those on display here - for which she is most famous and revered. The other judges were in fact the other contestants - the novel format of the contest being that they all judge each other. Diana won the contest. She has been a national icon - and a world class performer - since she was 14. She was 18 when she gave this performance and even now is still only 20.

You have just listened to what may be a true contralto. “Diana Ankudinova, A Russian National Treasure” (My opinion), I have been following her for a while. She is another very interesting story that you will discover. Wait until you hear “Wicked Games”, “Take On Me”, "Human" or "Rechenka" Even though it is in Russian you still feel the emotion behind it. Jone Ruiz, for you, and all those in your audience that may not know, this performance took place on September 25, 2021, during the first season of a new Russian vocal competition called the ShowMaskGoOn. During Diana’s Ankudinova’s opening of her cover of the Elvis Presley classic Can't Help Falling In Love, she demonstrates her low Contralto sound. Diana Ankudinova has developed into what many vocal professionals say is a true contralto voice type and a true contralto female voice is very, very rare. Now, a female singer's vocal range is one of the defining factors of a female singer's voice type. In 2017, at 13 years old, her vocal range measured from a low of D3 to a high of A5, which places her in the vocal range of an Alto, which was very good for a 13-year-old girl. At age 18 during this performance, her vocal range was again measured, and her functional vocal range was measured from a low C3 which is in the male Tenor range, to a high Bb5 which is in the female Mezzo Soprano range, which means Diana has almost 3 full octaves of vocal range. Diana’s upper range improvement is on full display during the mid-portion of this performance for all to hear. Diana has said during interviews she was not very happy with her lack of a higher vocal range, which kept her out of the more prestigious music academies. Diana and her vocal coach decided to work extensively on developing a higher vocal range. The improvement to her upper range is on display during the middle portion of this performance, and that improvement is quite impressive. But it is not just how high or low she can go, it's in the exceptional quality of her tone in her upper and lower ranges. It's in the roundness, fullness, and depth of her voice, plus her ability to use an enormous amount of resonance. Diana's ability to create and use this resonance helps in further defining Diana as a dramatic contralto which is the rarest of the rare contralto voice types, and a dramatic contralto has the deepest, darkest sound, and is the most powerful contralto voice type. At the end of this performance, the full depth and power of a dramatic contralto voice is on full display. So, the question people ask is how does Diana do it? How is it possible an 18-year-old female singer to achieve these low, rich, deep, round, and profound sounds? Without actually scoping her vocal tract while she is producing these low notes to see what is happening, the general conciseness of many vocal professionals is simply attributing Diana's unique ability to her many hours of training with her vocal teacher, and her winning the genetic lottery. The opinion of many vocal provessional is that Diana won the genetic lottery and was born with her unique vocal anatomy. Diana's vocal folds (vocal cords) appear to be longer and thicker than the majority of female singers. Her larynx appears to be larger and her pharynx similarly appears to be longer than the majority female singers, and additionally, she has a large oral cavity. When you combine all these attributes, Diana Ankudinova’s unique vocal anatomy gives her the ability to produce the low, deep, rich, and full sounds, she is known for, but without actually scoping the vocal track to verify, there is no way to be 100% sure. Diana is also a master at using a vocal technique known as polyphonic singing, which is an extraordinary accomplishment for someone so young. singers that have mastered polyphonic singing can create one, and up to two different tones at the same time which adds to the harmonic overtones and that can make it sound like more than one voice singing. It is this polyphonic ability that has some people believing Diana Ankudinova is using some form of artificial electronic voice manipulation or is using some kind of pitch correction software to alter or adjust her sound. Others believe another person is singing in the background off stage, or Diana is lip-syncing over a previously recorded vocal track that was altered or modified. There is no artificial manipulation of Diana's voice happening at all, and no one else is singing off stage, nor is she lip-syncing to a vocal track. The other voices you are hearing are vocal backing tracks but they are used to fill in and round out the performance along with the musical score. Diana Ankudinova and only Diana Ankudinova is singing Can't Help Falling In Love. At then end of the 9 week’s, during the final episode of TheShowMaskGoOn, Diana Ankudinova was the last to perform with her cover of Can't Help Falling In Love. Diana was competing against other professional singers who also doubled as the judges. This vocal competition was televised over nine weeks, one episode per week with the other 9 professional singers, who were also competing with each other, and based on the individuals performance they awarded judging points to each other. When not competing, Diana was also a member of this judging panel. Every week, each singer took the stage and performed a different song over each of the nine weeks. Each contestant had to sing a different song from a different genre using different styles. The ShowMaskGoOn! concluded on November 20, 2021, and during Diana's performance, the male judge on the top row, who was the first to stand is the Russian opera tenor, Yusif Eyvazov from Azerbaijan, who was invited to participate as a special guest judge for this competition. Yusif Eyvazov is married to the world-famous Russian opera soprano Anna Netrebko. At the end of Diana's performance, she receives a standing ovation from all her fellow competitors. One of those competitors is the well-known contemporary Russian singer, Julia Parshuta, who is the blond woman standing in the center row dressed in red and looks dumbfounded at the end of Diana's performance. Julia Parshuta puts both hands on top of her head, with a look of total shock and bewilderment. Finally, The inaugural season of the ShowMaskGoOn concluded with Diana Ankudinova being awarded to most judging points and being declared the winner of this new competition!

Wonderful reaction! This performance was from a Russian show that aired in the fall of 2021, and ran for 9 weeks. There were 9 singers who were also the judges and critiqued each other. There were 9 genres of music they had to perform over the course of the show. Thus Diana sang in many different styles. Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice.
