The GOAT doesn't have to be defined by every song you hear is better, higher, lower, stronger than the last to achieve some impossible standard. NO, sometimes all it takes to be the GOAT is to transcend the "art" we are listening to at the moment and we can see something more reflecting through from their journey and what they've been through to be standing there in front of us performing at levels few have seen. Greetings from Scotland! Diana was only 18yo here, now consider that you have missed almost 70% of her performing career to date! So many incredible performances of incredible songs that you have never heard - yet! Let me give you some backstory so you can understand:- Diana is 21yo currently and I've been following her career since she was around 13yo. Diana is a natural *Dramatic Contralto* so the lower registers are her comfort zone but she has increased her range even more since this. She also naturally sings with *polyphonic overtones* so it sounds like many voices at the same time! Any song, any genre, in any language, Diana can sing it and improve it! Diana's birthmother had multiple miscarriages but when Diana came along, she seemed to hate her. She verbally and physically abused her, trying to drown her and belittle her. It all culminated when (at 3yo) a passing relative found her in her home with a broken collarbone and several other injuries. She went for the authorities who removed Diana from her birthmothers care and placed her in an orphanage. For almost 2 years Diana never gave up hope and she knew that she was meant for something better. (This story is in her Wikipedia entry) Finally her new mother (Irina Ponik, who worked as a masseuse there occasionally) Signed her adoption papers and took her home. She vowed to pay Irina back for her kindness. Irina had a real struggle because Diana had obviously been badly affected by the experiences and at 5yo, she had a very bad stammer. It was recommended that she be taken for singing lessons to help this and immediately it was recognised that Diana had perfect pitch and an excellent ear for music and songs. 1 year later, at 6yo, Diana was performing solo on stage! This young unique phenomenon sang everywhere and anywhere she could, working constantly to earn money for the family who rescued her. Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. At the end of the performance Diana was in tears, not because she was surprised by the standing applause she received but because she was so entrenched into the song she was LIVING it, so you have that correct! 8:48 Diana has also mastered the technique of Polyphonic singing, which is the art of singing with more than one tone at a time. (Due to her large larynx she actually has more overtones than the average person so that might be a reason why she sounds so haunting even when she is singing normally. ) but that aside, that is what you are hearing right here.

Diana is indeed "THE" G.O.A.T. arguably the best female vocalist in the world right now, this is just the tip of the iceberg, she can go both lower and way way higher than this, way way more complex too, she will surprise and mesmerize you again and again. You said that this is one of the best performances you have ever seen but this will happen every time you listen to her, every single time will be the new best performance you have ever heard. And also take a look at her personal story, you can find it on Wikipedia and there are also several videos about it, it will worth your time and you will understand then the why she is able to connect so well with her songs and manage to convey all the right feelings, her story is as extraordinary as her talent.
