Regardless it's a stupid thing to do, even more stupid than it would be to have movie about the black civil rights movement, and have Superman leading the way and taking the glory for example in a movie about the suffragettes even if it wasn't the point of his involvement to take the glory or demean the actual women or black people from those events. I love how the whole point of this movie was that there isn’t always a big bad guy to blame for violence. Violence can often be just the nature of humanity, with no real villains or heroes. And then they *RUIN* that message by having Ares still be the bad guy Diana has to fight. It would have been way more interesting if she confronted him and he just said “Oh I didn’t start this war, I haven’t contributed to it at all in fact. I’ve just been watching humanity tear itself in two.” They TRY to pull that shit, but then once Diana beats him the war just ends, like wtf.

I agree. When I was watching this years ago, in the theatre, I was in hopes Diana was proven wrong--something that rarely happens in films towards protagonists. The fight scene with Ares was impressive, but, it defeats the entire purpose of mankind being its own folly--without any outside force. Stil, this was a memorable film.

Actually, they didn't RUIN the message because we all know the Wars did not stop after Diana defeated Ares. WW2, Korean War, Cold War, etc. up to the time where Superman came to Earth, till Justice League, Wars are still rampant across the planet. But imagine if they had, what if they proved him wrong? But they never were going to prove him wrong In the end, ares is always right (or least how he would view it)

I know Gal Gadot is not exactly a trained actress as the rest of her colleagues and many of her performances are not as powerful, but when it comes to Diana's calmest behaviors: as her quiet amazement of finding herself in a new world or her confusion when the men try to intimidate her are very natural and her little glances and head held high are very in tune with the character, whereas a more skilled actress might have actually overdid it. Patty did a very good job directing and Gal as Diana.

I really loved this movie, I remember being the only one in the theater watching it, literally had the entire cinema to myself. When i finished it I was inspired to just walk the 5 miles back home through the forest just to see how long it was. Its a shame the 2nd movie wasn't as good.

Wonder woman indeed has the most tragic and saddest love story... Titanic's James Cameron said that a Woman's heart is like a deep ocean full of secrets... and that quote could never be more true in Wonder woman's love story... The real reason for me that makes It sooo heart breaking is that STEVE TREVOR the one and only person that makes her sooo vulnerable and is somewhat her Kryptonite sacrifices himself so that DIANA PRINCE can save the world: "I can save today. You can save the world." It's like the story of "A STAR IS BORN." You meet your soulmate then for awhile you feel that everything is all right in the world then he's gone and suddenly you have to be strong on your own and face the world alone. So that you'll be able to reach your full potential and be your best self. STEVE TREVOR is like DIANA PRINCE'S SOULMATE. Gone but always alive in her heart. That is super painful when the only person who makes you feel vulnerable when everybody in the world forces you to be tough and strong is gone.
