Here's a new device from KrisKrafter.com that makes weaving on the LK150 easy! Diana shows a whole group of different weaving looks with the Weave-R and also demonstrates using it with the Needle Beetle (also from KrisKrafter) for 8-stitch, selected needle patterning.

Interesting, looks to be identical to the Silver Reed LW-1 weaving attachment, made for the LK-150 back in the day. If this is just a remake, I’d be very interested if Kris could remake the FC-6 Fairisle carriage for the LK-150, which was available in the days of yore too.

Send Kris an email. Her website is kriskrafter.com, and there's contact information. I know she studies various items we can't get anymore and makes an assessment as to whether they would be practical to manufacture. Her stuff is made in America. She actually uses two different companies to make the garter bars because she wanted a very good polish on them. Mine never nicks me!

I thought the LK-150 was the only machine that you could still find brand new. I hope they haven't ceased production! How I wish we had a time machine that could take us back to the '80s and '90s when machine knitting was more popular and the machine variety was more widespread, although most were too expensive for me to have ever afforded. Those were the days!

This one doe athe weaving shown in the video. The intarsia carriage does something entirely different - it lets you put blocks or shapes of color across the knitting/ The colors are regular stockinette stitches. One the front, you can create a picture.

Doesnt like normal yarn has to be baby weight or fingering or below. So hard to find yarn. Ive found a 150 for 100 and a astasia carriage for 80 from the same person ..just have to get there to collect it as she wont post it.

It would be helpful if you could show how to thread the yarn into the tension arm.
@323352
@323352 2 жыл бұрын
Hello I find that the woven yarn slackens when you unhook the knitting while it is tight while it is on the machine. How do you do ? If two different threads are used, the tension must be increased or decreased each time. Thank you for your advice. Regards
@dianaknits
@dianaknits 2 жыл бұрын
Sometimes I run into this problem, too. How much this slackening happens depends on the yarn for the knitting and the yarn for the weaving. Some weaving yarn is springier and behaves better. Sometimes the knitting yarn is too thin or too tight and draws up too much, leaving the weaving yarn slack. You can add a little tension by how you hold the weaving yarn. Play with the tension dial and your yarns and I think you can get a good result. I never can know how the yarns will behave until I actually swatch.

First of all, the Juki may not work with the Brother ribber. Probably won't. Anyway, Juki machines are not so different from Brother machines in that you can work it out by fiddling with the push buttons to see which ones are slip, which are tuck, etc. There were several Juki models, and I've only owned one, so I can't give detailed instructions. However, you can find some Juki knitting manuals in English here machineknittingetc.com/other-km/juki.html

The Bond used to run much better. If you compare an old, old one to the new ones, you'll find rough edges, less accessories, quite a few issues with the new one. I've been told that it helps to use an emery board on every rough edge and lube well. However, why on earth would a beginner know to do that? And new Bonds are jammy, and after about three jams I'm wanting to throw something.
