Like STRONGsideEye, I have made it a tradition to re-read the entire series a few months before the next book comes out. That way I'm always up-to-date on what's going on. Each time I read these books I learn more, the fabric she weaves becomes even clearer, and the people in it become more like family. Truly an amazing author.

Her enthusiasm and love of her characters is both evident in her writing as well as in this interview. Such a wonderfully talented writer! Keep up the great work, Diana! :)

I find her vocal fry quite annoying. Very American tic to have. She is otherwise brilliant! What a vivid imagination!

jamie and claire...as real to me as the neighbors next door. I love them like family members. What would be interesting is a book based on claires 20th century husband and what he really knew about claire's other life. he was a history professor after all....

I purchased the first seven books in a bundle for my Kindle and have not had a life since. Now, I am as addicted to characters in these books as I am to breathing. Diana Gabaldon give me my life back.

The whole series and all the spinoffs are great fun! I have them all in audio book, kindle for iPad, and print. Davina Porter brings all the characters to life in the audio books with an amazing range of unique voices. I can't wait for the next book!

I recommend you go back to the first book and read each one ALL over again. Like I did. Eight times. So far. And I just only discovered the series in July 2011. Reading them over I find details that I didn't pay close attention to first time around. The little details matter when you consider the stories as they progress through Jamie and Claire's lives.

I realize that Jaimie & Claire's story will have to end a some point, but I hope it won't be for a very long time. I have followed your writing when I first discovered the first two books, sometimes with frustration by having to wait for the next one. I also have enjoyed your Lord John series and am impressed by how you kept them separate but having some reference to a few of the same characters.

I wish Jamie could travel to the 20th century at the end of all the books. It would be nice to see him have a peaceful life for once .... And than live happily ever after of course 😉

Waaaiiit, Claire and Frank were in their 2nd honeymoon in 1946 and when Claire goes back in time it's 1743. So it's not exactly 200years, it's 203years. This messes up with all my understanding of the series.

I just finished Echo. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself until the next book comes out. (But for God's sake, don't rush it! Not that I have to tell DG that! LOL) I'm torn on the idea of the graphic novel or movie editions. I would desperately love to see a movie version (or a series!) - but I have such a picture of them in my mind. If they did do a movie I would only hope they would not "tame it down" - but that's extremely tough - the intimacy is so core to the characterization!
