Diana Ross being interviewed @ her former Hollywood home in 1978 - this was broadcasted in the early 90s, hence the Central Park footage at the beginning of the clip.

Aww...the way Diana says "If That's What Made Them Happy" you can really hear the love Diana has for her children...that moment in the interview is so precious!!

This is a great interview. She's radiant but also she's just so honest. She admits to flaws and explains herself candidly and openly. You know she's not holding back. I have always been a fan, and I will continue to be. Beautiful spirit. You could feel that. And what's so great is we know she did find love again, and two more beautiful children came from that.

Damn, Michael took everything from this woman. Even the way she speaks. I don't blame him either, she's contagious.

Mz.LiteBrite in the 80s i.e We Are The World, MJ looked like her relative. Side by side they practically share the same face.

This woman is simply amazing. How could someone that is so loved by the world still feel so insecure? When you think about it, superstars are just like you and me. We have our bad days and our good days. That's what makes Diana Ross so human.

WOW you get so much insight on her personality...You see what drove her to the hights of her stardom..Her inscurity and desire to be liked by the world...WOW!!!!

It's her job as an interviewee to conduct a good interview, to give the viewers what they want to hear. I think Miss Walters does a great job at breaking the shield of perfection that celebrities uphold in their public image. This is good, as it makes celebrities seem more of an average human. It's her job. And she does it great.

A few years ago, she was a cosmetics spokesperson for MAC, who created an entire line to celebrate her status as a beauty icon.

One thing for sure judging from all of your comments, Diane sure has an intelligent group of fans. I must say that I certainly appreciate the fact that she always gives credit to her hometown Detroit. I must also add that dispite all of the criticism, I always loved her singing...It always made me happy inside and proud to be a fellow Detroiter.

The only person who can truly determine what Diana Ross "should" do or what is "appropriate" for her to do is Diana Ross, as only we can determine what's best for us. What others think of our decisions is irrelevant. All we can do is learn from each other. Dictation is futile.:)

Oh dear Michael was there Diana, he loved you all his life , he loved you more than any other man loved you. Diana would have been the happiest woman on this earth if she had married Michael! No other man loved Diana as Michael did!
@danielrobinson92706 жыл бұрын
Sarah F K You don't know that. We can't want someone to be in love sexually with another person. Only those two can feel what they feel for each other.
@danielrobinson92706 жыл бұрын
Sarah F K I disagree. I am one of Diana Ross's biggest fans. She was in love with her husband and the father of her 2 boys, Arne Naess even after they divorced in 1999. People feel because Michael Jackson was so in love with her and of course she loved him, that they should have gotten married. I have never gotten the impression that she loved Michael in a sexual manner but rather as family as she watched him grow up. Thats a big difference. The marriage/love thing with MJ and DR is a fantasy of many of MJ fans. I don't see that. Michael Jackson had very little in terms of traits that Diana's 2 husbands had and I don't see husband and wife chemistry between them. I see two dear friends who love each other. Just my opinion.

She was old enough to be his mother He also had a very strange relationship with Elizabeth Taylor.He was a great performer and singer.Unfortunately he was really messed up.Diana loved him and a friend.No more no less.

In NYC I attended the opening of "Robeson", a one-man show starring James Earl Jones. I was sitting in the orchestra seats as a guest of the producer.. There was a woman sitting in front of me with all this hair and I had to constantly shift in my seat to see the play. On either side of the woman were two huge guys dressed in suits and to her left was a young kid. When intermission came, the woman turned suddenly and looked at me. It was Miss Diana Ross. Michael Jackson was the kid!

That said, had a major make-up company offered her a promotional contract in the earlier portion of her career, I'd like to think that she'd have agreed. Until the rise of Naomi Sims (upon which some, if not much, of "Mahogany" is based), most make-up firms didn't even get the base colors correct for Black skin. Miss Sims had to be flown to Japan, of all places, to show them which colors to use, etc., after she received one of her first contracts.

To my understanding, In her biography she released earlier this year she finally talks about an affair she was having with a married gentlemen who happened to be a politician. It was over 30 years ago and she told it all to sell her book. The gentlemen's wife didn't even know about it until the book release.

Its so true in the early years there was virtually no company catering to black women when it came to beauty and the cosemetic industry. Case and point when the supremes first appeard on the Ed Sullivan show,the make up artist painted there faces to look like black face! Can you imagine al three of the supremes, there very different shades of a beautiful black women all painted one foundation color!!!!

Not necessarily. Her fan base has aged along with her, with their kids & grandkids in tow. According to MAC, one of the reasons for the line's success was the idea that if it made a woman in her 60's look that good, imagine what it could do for the customers. That works on a far more real level than some 20 - something bleating about the make-up hiding her non-existant "wrinkles".

Her life would make a dramatic turn here. This was just before she went to New York to film the movie THE WIZ' where she discovered the relationship between her Michael Jackson had changed.
