It is high time the Rock and Roll hall of Fame gave her her own place in the hall. She deserves it every bit as much as Aretha, Tina and other superstars of her era. She has soloed, sung lead or duet on 18 number one singles in the rarefied air of Elvis, the Beatles, Mariah and Madonna (who has 12; tied with the Supremes). Let's go, Rock and Roll hall. Now is the time while she is still with us.

Diana Ross is a walking treasure, I love the fact that she doesn't attach herself to so called stars or celebrities. I see all these lesser stars from the past all up in front of cameras and taking pictures with any stars they can to stay relevent. Diana does her tours and then it's back home to see her Grandkids grow up. She always marched to her own beat and was never Star Struck. She always knew she would be a success.

You can tell she genuinely loved what she was doing. It's also interesting that she is doing the long version of this wonderful tune with the seldom heard first verse. Back in 1976 when I was 12 and this song was often on the radio, they usually played a shorter version that contained the second verse and going straight into the disco part.

Read her biography:while she admits to suffering from some form of anorexia in her younger years (she explains that back then they didn't have a name for this in the black community) she never experimented w/ drugs, especially having studied to prepare for her role in the harrowing life story of Billie Holiday. Diana's had the same stage faces and movements since the 60s. Frankly,for me the 70's represents her prime; sexy,ultra-glamourous, funky, and fun-loving. She could get down in concert.
@waynej26085 жыл бұрын
Her performance as Billie Holiday was nothing short of perfection. The bio film played fast and loose with the facts, but Diana was note perfect. People owe it to themselves to see Lady Sings the Blues, for her performance, if for no other reason. And Richard Pryor, in a supporting role, ain't too shabby either.
