At the time of the Panorama Interview, Diana was already in a relationship with Haznat Kahn. Diana introduced Haznat to Bashir. Haznat told her not to trust him. He tried to dissuade her from doing the Interview but she said that she wanted to. Part of the reason was to bring things to a head with the RF and try to move the situation forward regarding a divorce. She was in limbo with the separation and she wanted to be able to move on in her life.

Nevertheless, Princess Diana spoke exactly what was on her mind and heart. Diana spoke her truth regardless of how Martin Bashir got Diana to participate in that Panorama interview. From that interview, we know that Prince Charles was having an intimate relationship with Mrs. Camilla Parker Bowles. And, the BRF or the Firm (which is a business) were terrified of Princess Diana's strength and popularity. Rather than support the woman who gave birth to a royal heir and spare, whose husband was unfaithful, whose husband was condescending and cruel, they stripped Princess Diana of her title and she had to leave without her sons. They need to acknowledge how badly they treated Princess Diana.

@@California265 true, and I do sympathize in part with what she was going through. She came from a broken family, grew up without her mother and probably didn't have much of an upbringing. She was certainly too young and immature for any marriage, much less marriage into the RF. I don't defend Charles, he didn't love her, and practically showed it when asked about love ... "Whatever that means". But she brought very little into their relationship. She had no particular education, no particular interests or experience. The bulimia and self-harm proved her to be unstable and unsuitable for such a tough job as royal life. Her subsequent fame - and she truly was beautiful and charismatic - led her to believe everyone loved her. Many did, but as many were anti-royal only too happy to use her to undermine the monarchy. She exposed her sorrows and weaknesses to these people when she should have put her head down and kept quiet.

Harry needs help for his mental health. But i do not understand how he is being deliberately hurt by his family. Not when they opened their arms to welcome his wife into the familly, not when his dad walked her bride down the aisle. He was the one who stepped back from royal life , only after he didn't get his part time "senior royal" + commercial ventures" proposal approved. Not having security, when security is linked to being part of being senior royal work. Doubt he was not advised out it. Could be that he doesn't want to accept it vs. not advised about it. Did he consider doing his job - being bullied, as he didn't want to do it? Maybe time to H to return his title to the Queen.

The Dimbleby interview by Charles the prince of Wales where he states that he only became unfaithful after his own marriage had broken down meaning he is the innocent party and it was Diana that was impossible to stay married to. Dismissing her security in 1993 is another fact seemingly her own decision but it was Charles that was paying for it and the people were going back and forth between the two households. He was playing musical chairs having Camilla move in as soon as Diana left the house. Diana was hurt, sad and disappointed but not paranoid she new what was going on at this point and for a while as a fact.

The tabloids are busy pointing fingers at the bbc as though they were not the once who wrote nonsense about her and had photographers constantly chasing her around. This is not about politics it is about hamun values and human exploitation by the media that those tabloids do this very day and still never take accountability, justice and peace for all no matter gow much privilege one has it doesn't justify what these papaers put these royals through at all, you can treat them horribly because of their privilege when majority of them profit of royals, want a monarchy and also no one wants communism and rightly so. Sondeal with the fact that there will be people richer than you and also the money royals get is not directly from the taxpayer but from the crown estate were they get 18-25% of the profits from their estates, land and properties that are not private which they now share with the government because of the agreement with George V, so the abuse they get to this day is not right one bit. I just want to cry for them honestly and i am so angry for the both of them and their entire family.

Diana suffered at the hands of Bashir whom told her that her staff were spying on her. He gave Diana's brothers fake bank statements so he could get Diana to speak to him. The BBC stood behind Bashir with all of those lies. Bashir got to Diana to lay her life out there for all to see. Its nice to actually hear that she never lost her security, she got rid of her security herself because she thought that they were reporting back to Charles of what she was doing. Henry needs to stop blaming his father and grandmother for taking away her security because they didn't.

One cannot put all the blame on a journalist. On a single human being. The problem is larger. It is not really fair to make this journalist the scapegoat. There were a whole bunch of other people. I think this is very unethical to just accuse one person for the happening. Also, despite Diana being a wonderful person, she did have responsibility for her actions and choices. Well, Harry does not seem to understand where his real threat is coming from. All his personal life getting out in order to make money. Who´s behind this? Harry is as naive as his mother.

Patrick Jephson maintains that Diana was not a victim. He wrote in his book "Shadows of a Princess", that the day he walked away after resigning as her Private Secretary, he felt such relief as though he had just walked out from a den of vipers, a snakepit or a lions den. One of those. It's been a while since I read it. By the time he got home he found a series of messages on the home phone from Diana that were intended for his wife to hear, slanderous messages designed to destroy his marriage. Diana was an extremely vindictive woman!

Very good analysis by Paul Burrell. I agree. I gather that Lady Diana felt humiliated by the previous interview of Charles about their separation. Her own interview would have happened anyhow. I dont think she was a victim because she would have said what was on her mind. Also, she could have refused questions she wouldnt want to answer. She knew what she was doing. To air your dirty laundry is wrong. The readin why she did it is because she wanted a divorce. Otherwise, she would have just been seperated. She did not want that even if she knew she still would be queen seperated. She wanted a divorce so she did a tell all interview. She knew what she was doing.
