Lost my younger brother, my only sibling, to a heart attack 3 years ago. I never had the chance to even say goodbye. siblings hold the key and the fact check to your family memories, and are the only ones who actually experienced them. He left a big hole in my life. A large piece of who I am is gone. This leaves me a total orphan of my original family. This and many other songs represent loss and grief. Time in a Bottle by Jim Croce is another one. Still another I will Remember You by Sarah McLachlan, and Yesterday by the Beatles. It's Time to Leave by Judith Durham. But Clapton tops the list, the song is more direct. Gut wrenching. Thanks for crying with me Dianne. It's very hard to get through this song. I lost my 29 year old daughter March 9, 2023. She had a combination of 3 rare diseases that she fought for 5 years. Over those years her body became completely unable to digest food and absorb nutrients, and even medicine. Tube feeding didn’t work either. Thank God she was able to get pain and nausea medication via IV. Then that no longer controlled the pain and she had to be in sedated hospice. The last time I really listened to this song is when I played it for my mom’s wake in 2001 after she passed away from cancer. My daughter and her grandmother were inseparable. She was just 7 when my mom died. They are together again. ❤️💔😪

I can never bring myself to think of the thousands of years of all our predecessors suffering agony and no pain relief even after prayer after prayer after prayer. He's hired and given opportunities to literally hundreds of "people of colour" over the years, but that doesn't mean anything to you does it. To say he's an awful racist is just wrong. I'm not stalking you lol. I'm just in a place where I need this. This song brings yet another memory. My youngest brother died in 1992 in a car accident which devastated the whole family. Of course. But dad heard this song, and he wanted it played at the table in the front part of the church when people came inside. I didn't think of it at that time, but I'd have asked him to also have them play Queensryche's "Silent Lucidity". I connected that song to my little brother after hearing from another brother that the last concert they went to was Queensryche. It always brought Matthew to mind when I heard it. Still does. In fact, it makes me cry more than this one. But that's how I work out my grief in life....through music. You might want to check out Silent Lucidity, it's a great song with sweeping orchestration in with the rest of the music. Queensryche did some good work, including a really rocking and powerful version of "Scarborough Fair". When I hear that one, I see a whole structured video playing in my mind. I know, I'm odd.
