So... I am definitely one of your older viewers. The only time I can catch the stream is usually on the weekends, and I put it on my phone while I'm doing chores. I only sit down and really watch if it's a game that I like. Similar with the VODs. But I will say... I am travelling for work right now, and it's cool, but it's a bit stressful being in an unfamiliar country. The night that the Contraband Police video came out I put it on, made a big pot of spaghetti, and watched the whole thing in one sitting. It was a real refreshing treat, took my mind of not being able to speak the language, etc. here :)

I had no idea you were making the thumbnails! That is honestly awesome! Your thumbnails have a great style and really bring through your humour too I think, a big influence all round. I do see a few times when creators struggle to let go of bits of their content creation process they just run out of time and burn out. Mr Sark is an example of a KZbin OG, still plays games with his friends constantly, but an upload on his channel is rare because he enjoys his style (it's made wonderfully) but I think he would still be a KZbin giant if he had have used an editor and let go of some more of that 100% control. I could be misremembering entirely what the reasonings were for everything but from memory that was the general situation. Perhaps with the advancements with AI and image generation you could soon run your existing thumbnails through a program and have it keep that feel, or at the very least provide a rough template for an actual artist to then refine and add detail to.

*On that ad discussed I'm surprised people click off ads when it's creators they know what they are getting with. But also that just may be me being biased coz a lot of the creators I watch are creators I've been watching for a long time so no matter how good or bad an ad is I'll sit through it coz I'm here for the rest of the video. I feel like I'd be more inclined to click off ads when I'm watching like a random tutorial or DIY video when I've got no attachment to the creator and I'm just basically there for the "how to/tutorial" rather than the whole package of the creator.

*And yep I'm very much in the More Teo camp. I'm always at work during most streams so it's always been dope to have the vods up where they are easily accessible so usually I'll catch up on vods during weekends if I'm just chilling. Which I could technically also do via Twitch vods but I think most of us are creatures of habit so KZbin is just a comfortable platform. It basically gives us the stream experience without necessarily attending stream's, a good balance. And on the games discussion I think ultimately your channels will always be fine. Whether or not there's like crazy hype games out or what not I'm sure your audience enjoys as long as you're enjoying the game. Like I watched all your CSGO stuff from back in the day and stuff but that's an example of a game I don't play myself coz I'm not bothered about shooters. So I think that probably applies for a lot of the viewers where they tune in for the vibes and enjoyment not necessarily because they play that specific game. I think the specific game related views would now mostly apply to new viewers who may discover the channel via a specific game on KZbin or specific game category on Twitch etc coz then they maybe tune in for the game but end up staying for the creator.

8:20 oo teo here’s a suggestion or if hobo sees this, you should do a cooking video and insert the hello fresh ad, that’ll seamlessly flow into the video and doesnt seem too jarring, i think one reason why ppl click off is because the ad is so different to the video Im probably a minority but i really loved seeing all the dishes you were making in the ad that i forgot that it was an ad, so if you really wanted it longer then a cooking video could help the ad flow with the vid Much love! Will you be streaming on KZbin on a regular schedule? 2. I know KZbin has regional prices for subscriptions and donations. Does it bother you? For example, in my country's currency, one sub is around $1, so gifting subs could lead to a loss in your income. On the other hand, Twitch's sub price may be too high for some countries. 3. Whenever i've edited videos of gameplay i have used the same method of using HandBrake to make the content work with Premiere. It feels like such a caveman method that I thought surely actual youtubers have a better method of doing it :D Anywho I really enjoy these diaries!
