Laura has gone on to show AGT and America her amazing talent. She sings like an angel. I'm a 62 year male and Laura brings me to tears. I have listened to both Maria Callas and Montserrat Caballe sing this song. The only differences I hear are the obvious subtleties and control that ONLY age & experience can bring. Laura is very near to their renditions at a fraction of their ages. She will only get better with age. She already has the voice of an angel.

Sounding like a grown woman at 14 isn't a good thing though. There's a reason there aren't any child prodigies on the opera stage, childrens voices are not yet physically capable of singing opera. To produce the sound she makes, Laura is overdarkening a helluvalot (which most young singers do when they first start out) by among other things pressing down the larynx. Which can possibly be very harmful in the long run and potentially make it impossible for her to sing classical music when she gets older. It's obvious she has to put all she's got behind every single phrase, and her vibrato is bordering on out of control. She sounds beautiful, yes, and she's very talented. But comparing her to Callas or Montserrat would be great insult to those two legendary voices. With time and training, she could become as good as them (and I mean that only as a compliment, living up to Callas is the dream of every aspiring soprano out there). I wonder if she has a vocal coach. And if she does, I want to punch them for letting her do what could potentially damage her for life. As one great operatic tenor once told an 11 year old who won a talent competition, ''that was great, now if you promise not to to sing or take any lessons until your 16, you might have a career''.

Singing the same song is not imitation, she's not opera singer, and she did not pretend to be. Working will get her up very quick because she is so talented. You can search when Callas, and Caballe was able to sing this, but for sure not at 14 years old. By the way, I've seen so many fails at real and experienced soprano singing this area ... Laura it will be next Maria Callas if she will work, and enjoy what she's doing.
