Great explanation! It never occurred to think of the double stops as elements of the triad chord shapes played on the top three strings. It makes it so much more intuitive.

thanks Jack. This lesson is unlocking one of the doors I have not opened in my playing. Really really appreciate how you give a concept and then apply it to a song or chord progression. Not many others on KZbin do that. Question on this lesson: are you consciously trying to land on the diads for the chord you are playing over or just staying in the key and moving around to different diads in that key or both. I don’t understand the thing with the 4th and the 6th… you play the 1,3,5 that constitute the triads. How come you say we get the 4th and the 6th when playing two strings together?

The 4th is the interval between the 5 and the 1, and the 6th is the interval between 3 and 1.
