I think an interesting and effective way to perform diavolo’s power in a video game would go like this. First diavolo’s player inserts the combo or whatever that activates it, then at first there is no signal to the other players that it has started, the diavolo player will know they did it correctly because the ui will change color so something. From this point on the game records all movements for ten seconds and afterwards it resets back to the beginning, revealing that this has been epitaph the whole time showing the diavolo player what you were gonna do, then from this point on the characters move automatically according to what was recorded in the last then seconds (perhaps in slow mo) but the diavolo player can move however he wants to give themselves an advantage, however this isn’t shown to the other players (rather their screen turns red or something to designate a time skip is occurring) then when the end of the recorded data is reached the game continues as per usual.

Here's a bunch of stuff I learned about the character that I didn't see mentioned in the video: You need to flash cancel the 3rd light attack and move closer to land the non-ex short range unblockable. You can also do it on enemy wake-up if you read that they are going to attack. Just abuse the invincibility frames of the short range super to counter/ignore the first enemy attack. This will lose to an enemy side or back dodge though and will leave you wide open for a punish. I suggest having your super that acts as a combo breaker (except during the beginning of barrage attacks) ready to use in case you guess wrong so you don't need to eat a combo or waste your true combo breaker evasive. This is a guaranteed strategy to make sure you are always in range for the non-ex short range super. Once you condition your enemy to dodge on wake-up you simply just respond by timing a full combo punish or the more easy route would be to just do the non-ex/uncharged long range super as it tracks very well and the timing seems to work perfectly when activated when you normally would activate the short range super on enemy wake-up. The light combo into non ex short range unblockable is definitely worth spending the cancel if the enemy won't wall splat with the normal light finisher or the non-ex/uncharged long range super. After the flash cancel you have a brief moment to slightly readjust your position to aim the enemy at the wall and seeing how Diavolo doesn't gain much from flash cancels anyways (because all his super attacks knock you away or aren't technically attacks at all) there isn't really a better alternative to spend them on. I found that the most deadly/flashy combo with Diavolo is: time skip, edge walk toward the opponent because you're diavolo and there's nothing else for you to do during time skip, ex long range super, move close quickly and do a 3-hit light combo, flash cancel, move close quickly and non-ex short range super, non-ex long range super into wall splat, depending on the distance you may need to flash cancel here as well to gain time to close the distance, close the distance to where you can land the extended ex short range super, land the ex short range super, then one more non-ex long range super. That is probably the end of the combo, meaning the enemy is probably either in a recovery state or defeated. However, if the opponent is open for another hit then jump into a heavy strike to finish the combo. Side note about epitaph skill: even though the enemy may be aware of the epitaph counter ability, you can still use it after a knock back to guarantee you will be able to close the distance again if the enemy has the ability to zone you or just has superior range like Giorno with his root strike or long range muda rush. It also gives you near free pressure to try and land an unblockable attack of your choice or simply just buy more time for the next (basically guaranteed) full combo from time skip if you're in a rough spot and you need to play super safe. You will need a game plan if your opponent gets smart and decides to rush you as epitaph is about to drain the last of your stamina if you go the "play it safe" route to wait for another time skip to recharge. At this point if youre low on health you really have no option but to leave things to chance. Jump over the opponent, put a wall in between you and the opponent, use the stage interactables if you can, sprint away to gain distance and make your stamina drain faster so even if they catch you and start a combo you have regained the stamina to use your super combo breaker at the very least or if they are about to catch you you can try ignoring a strike using the short range unblockable again. If the game is even slightly laggy in this scenario then I wouldn't use anything non-ex in this situation if I didn't have to. Utilizing the armor and faster start up that many ex moves have is a must, especially with Diavolo who in my opinion is basically a cross between the traditional tank and rogue classes. He can cause an enemy to use all their ex specials with very little return on their end, similar to the goal a traditional tank would have, and also hard counter those specials with effective means to get damage too like a traditional rogue would do i.e. bow for ranged damage, stealth for getting past defenses, backstabbing for critical damage, antidote for curing status effects like cripple or bleed or poison. All these tank and rogue elements are the bread and butter of Diavolo in this game. Second side note about epitaph skill: stop time does beat skip time most of the time, but epitaph actually remains active during stopped time. Meaning if DIO or part 4 Jotaro stop time and try to hit you with a ranged projectile while your epitaph is active, when time resumes your epitaph will counter the projectiles and teleport you to whoevers attack reached you first. Also, the timer for epitaph does not decrease at all during stopped time so there is no need to try and activate it as close to the the predicted time stop as possible. Just as long as its active when time stops, then it will save you from knives and ball bearings. Creator of video: you helped me learn how to play this game with these tutorial vids. You can actually just combo into the non ex triangle skill. Just use it after two regular attacks. This is consistent against enemies that don't expect it, but it is not a true combo. This means if they predict your attack, they can move away from you, or flash burst.

Essentially all it does really is make Diavolo invisible/untouchable/invincible for a short duration (roughly 5 seconds) but if Diavolo attacks, he becomes coporeal again. Stand users who can stop time completely counter his ability (Mostly Jotaro 3&4 since its instant) but Diavolo can use his R1 pretty often in comparison so it makes him very dangerous, especially if you use his R2 ability while Invisible since its instant, has max range and is unblockable.

10 seconds pass without the knowledge of anyone else aside from Diavolo. Diavolo can move freely, and cannot be attacked, and he cannot attack anyone else. other people are moving as they would during the 10 seconds, and when time "resumes", they have no memory of the 10 seconds, because it has been erased.
