Things I heard years ago: Dib was supposed to die in Bad Bad Rubber Piggy (And be replaced with some new WEIRDO) And Dib was a clone of Professor Membrane A Kenny scenario could made both happen. (As an extra thought. I like the idea that Dib’s ghost just keeps hopping into each new body each time. He just can’t remember this. But subconsciously he does, and this contributes to his interest in the Paranormal.)

It was actually proven canon by one of the producers where (if the shows didn’t get cancelled) Dib would go on an adventure to find out why he doesn’t have a mom and ends up finding out he and Gaz and clones of his dad I’m pretty he gets his memory erased after some sort of existential crisis (This might not be entirely factual, so someone correct me if anything is wrong)
