This interview was well deserved Andrew! i said it once and i said it again You are one of the most level headed logical people in the content creator space for this game, you really are a breath of fresh air and you present your videos very well and organized

The Armory decks are amazing as onboarding tools, especially for when you're trying to recruit people who are already players of another card game, so they don't necessarily want to start at the Blitz level. They want the real experience. I have a neighbor I've been trying to get in based on that

That was an excellent interview. I like that James seems to prioritize local stores over mass market penetration. I think that is such a healthy outlook in the hobby gaming space. I know my local shop here in Iowa has gone from dipping their toes in the water to carrying every still in print set just in this past year. We now have weekly events (half of which are blitz as it is the preferred format currently), had 13 players at our FAB 5th Anniversary event, and had to create a separate discord server just for the game locally. Without the shop, I'd probably just still be looking at Oldhim because I think he's cool but not actually having played the game.

So glad to hear of the importance being placed on casual play. I'm very much a part-time player and increasing my skill level in this game takes many more calendar days than I would like, therefore I'm more interested in casual play than tournament play. Mr. White's point about sealed events is exactly why I stay away from them. Sealed would just be an exercise in frustration for me. On the other hand, Crack-Shuffle-Play? Wow. I'm in!

This is one of the best videos you've ever made - I loved the interview from start to finish. Great insight and questions + and I felt a level of tremendous care from James White's answers that reassures the long-term future for the game. I think the part about creating a sustaining ecosystem so that folks can play not just flesh and blood, but Pokémon, MTG, Yugioh, etc (basically any TCG that people love and enjoy playing for the long-term) is perhaps the most important point that JW mentioned. Thanks to you both for a fantastic video.

Some relaly great questions, and answers here. Great interview/video. Thanks for it! Demoing the game at conventions is one of the many ways that WotC grew Magic. If it worked for them, it will work for FAB. I love the steady, sensible route that LSS are taking.

Fantastic interview! Thanks 🙏 I am a big fan of Blitz I think what would make it really more than a mini fast-forward-to-end-game version of cc is that if the deck size was increased from 40cards to 50cards, but keep the 2copy of each card limitation. We actually play like this at home and it does a lot to curb the spikes that can sometimes happen in blitz with some of the powerhouse majestics, as it increases variability just that little bit to cause the players to have to jockey a little more in order to line up those hands that they are looking for It also gives that extra space needed to build your deck to contain a few more of the silver bullet cards, allowing you to sure up against some of the worse matchups and help give you more of a fighting chance in these games

Here's a question for James (great interview btw), how will the US's proposed 2025 tariffs effect the price of Fab in the future? How accessible will the game be (due to inflated taxation) to players in 2025 and forward? As this is a product that ships from overseas.

I really enjoyed this interview i wish while you were discussing new players entering the game if they had any plans to reprint some key staples in upcoming products as they continue to climb in price and potentially turn people away because of that price tag.

James' perspectives are always decent to hear and give confidence, but I think regarding armory decks as bonus to tight expansion slots they don't really get everything out of it regarding lower rarities. Draft sets feel like they offer only really limited designs on lower rarity cards but those decks would be the place to go as far out as Dynasty did and we need it more imo. Higher rarity inclusions in equipment slots I do like far more in these decks than the expansion slot though because there they feel kinda bad.

I’d love to hear LSS make a promise to not include other IPs into the game as the game starts to grow more and more from players quitting MtG after the influx of non magic IPs
@Nathaniel_theClashGuy2 күн бұрын
JW has made an emphasis that the IP is one of the most important things to the company. I think they want would eventually want to do what Arcane has done for LoL (as well as the other cool offshoot games they've made). MtG just could never or never truly break beyond the cards so they switched tactics. I see LSS prioritizing working with partners to have great stories told in amazing ways beyond the TCG, whether its books, comics, shows etc.

Why is the secondarry market so damb week - why did you never try to heal the wounds of mon tales ever its hillarious how they punched everyone in the face and never tried to make up for that not with creating a set that creates value in these sets nor with destoying or rebuying product

If they’re worried about heroes leaving too fast, they could slow down the power creep. Every set has heroes better than the last
