Dicing with Death! Pitmedden MTB - Fife MTB - Scotland MTB

A superb day at Pitmedden with Dave Bradley showing me some more trails that I've not done before. Dave tackled The Corner of Death trail - which was far beyond my abilities. I continue to be amazed at the quality and diverse range of trails at Pitmedden. Hats off to the trail builders they have done a great job and it was fantastic to see the maintenance work done sorting better drainage on A River Runs Through It keeping one of my favourite trails running sweetly.

Yeah, great trails up there mate.👌. I’m still getting used to the tyres they feel very different from my old set up. Was at Philpstoun today, I noticed quite a lot of building has been done there since I was last there. Your handy work?

Corner of death = PASS 😂 good on Dave for getting it done, always admire speed bikers hit the jumps and clear them, have jumped few times and feel feet leaving pedals, even when trying to keep ankles pointing downward, practice, practice and more practice, great selection of trails at Pitmedden, good mix of gnar and flow, looking forward to Tier 3 on Monday am on the first train somewhere, not sure where yet, cheers Donald! 😁🚵‍♂️🤙

Yeah Pitmedden is great- so much choice of trails to do of varying styles and degrees of difficulty. That corner of death trail is very gnarly and the trees are so tight to manoeuvre through and it’s steep- to difficult for me at the moment...maybe one day. Cheers mate.😁🤙🤙

You really do get close to those trees! 😂😂 I’ll definitely need to give gully squeeze another go, I’m sure I can do it but I was too hard on the brakes. That warp speed bit was great. Such great trails. Don’t think I’d risk attempting the corner but f death for a long time though! 😁

@@muddymongoosemtb9873 ye, your more than capable now. If you just come in a ice and loose you'll be down gully squeeze in no time. It's easier than it looks. Just needs a bit of confidence on the way in.

Cheers mate! 😁 No, Dave was on his traditional mtb. Yeah that last section is called Warp Speed - it is so fast, especially, if like Dave, you don’t do any braking on it. 👌😁🤙🤙🤙

Cheers buddy! I’m still getting used to them, they feel very different from my old set up. I’ve been playing around with the pressures. On the day of this video I had them at 20psi on the front and 22 psi on the back. What’s your go to settings?

@@muddymongoosemtb9873 I only started running them in the winter when as u know how wet pitmedden gets the trails are so dry just now playing about with the setting as well I’m running 18 on the front 20 on the rear still no totally set on it yet

@@stuartmclaren7285 I quite often find myself making adjustments depending on the conditions on the day. 18 front 20 rear when it is wet and muddy is probably bang on I'd say to get that extra bit of grip.

Pretty close to the Fox recommendations slightly altered to take into account the vastness of my buttocks.😂😂

Yes, it’s a very short bit of black trail near a red trail called DDleg1😁🤙

Cool, it’s certainly worth having a look at- it doesn’t look that bad when you’re looking down it from the top but when you get into it it is very gnarly especially at the tight left hand turn between tight trees. Definitely walk it first- but you’ve got great skills I’m sure you’d give it a good go.😁🤙🤙
