I think that gully squeeze u just need to trust in your bike and go for it if u manage the heart of darkness one you will do gully squeeze also when u do it will think why did I hesitate it was easy just getting over the fear sometimes helps if you follow someone down as well to see there speed and lines .I'm sure you will do it next time

Cheers mate, I know what you mean, so many times I've bottled it on things and then when you eventually do it you think to yourself, what was I worried about? 🤔🤣🤣🤣 I think if I could turn that corner smoothly before it I'd be fine, just slowed down too much and that was that. I'll give it a go again in the future. 😃🤙🤙🤙

good vid mate! - the trails out the back are awesome, i usually go out there to get a few miles in, then finish with a few laps of the steeps at the car park. you were riding well in this vid. getting some nice speed up on Flow. and well ridden over the rock on heart of darkness, and the exit to the fireroad after loam lover - i thiink that wee bit is trickier than the end of gully squeeze. i think its purely a psychological block you have for gully squeeze. i think if you just come in and commit to it, you'd be over it no problem.
@muddymongoosemtb9873Ай бұрын
Cheers Dave, I think you are right...I do seem to almost freeze as I come into that right hand corner but I've realised recently that it's pretty much all tight right hand corners into steep stuff that I have a problem with...need to keep practicing and commit to it as you say. Another nice vid dude. i reckon that if you're doing the wee steep chute on 'Dont Send It' - just before the wee drop that pete hit, then you can defo do the wee chute on 'COVID-19' - its definitely easier and straighter. Its actually just similar to the one on 'Send it' that you didnt have any problem at all on. And the bone rattling bit on 'river runs through it' - there must be a better line through that section - i'm sure it costs me a few seconds there, but ive yet to find a better line.

Cheers Dave, I'm pretty certain I can do that chute on Covid 19 but it was the first run of the day and it was slippy. Some skillful riding there Donald (and just a wee bit of swearing 😂) Tight, twitsy and those steep drops at some of the trail ends would scare me too, always think when I get to those tree jumps that if I just get my speed up then bottle it as cant see where I'm landing and can often be tight. Aessegai is an amazing tyre in all conditions. Maybe the body position and confidence is more of an issue than the tyre? Keep at it though :-)
@muddymongoosemtb98733 ай бұрын
You've got a fair point mate. Callum who has been in a couple of my videos doesn't like Wild Enduros at all he swears by the Assegai's. And Dave Bradley who is also a very good rider and has been in some of my videos also loves Agassais. It's probably a case of good riders can use almost any tyre and ride well. I definitely need all the help I can get with grip! 🤣🤣🤣It's definitely a down to personal preference and as you say my body positioning does need a lot of work, that's for sure. I do feel for me the Wild Enduros have saved me from crashing a few times by gripping in at the last second especially when cornering. I didn't have any sketchy feelings with the Assegais when the trails were dry, I love how fast they roll, but in the mud I found them a bit skittish. As you say it's probably because I'm not weighting them properly through poor body position and that's why for me I feel the Wild Enduros are a better fit for me at the moment. Probably will switch back to the Agassai in the summer months though. I know a few people who are totally rating Continental Kryptotal tyres which look very grippy too. I'm quite intrigued to give them a shot. Cheers mate. Its good to hear your view of the Agassai's. What tyre set up do you run with? 😃🤙

It's hard to get your brain to realise that going faster on some stuff is better - slower can be harder and more dangerous but it's getting that confidence - I think you are like me in that you don't think you can ride certain trails or sections but in reality, and on group rides or out with friends everyone tells you, you can definitely ride this stuff! The Wild Enduros saved me a few times on my old bike, gripping in on wet muddy corners. They seem to be especially good at shifting mud off them. Do you think you get better grip on trails on the ebike because of the added weight, or isn't there much difference?
