I always loved this music ever since I was a kid. I bought a no label record at some cut rate department store, the most beautiful lady on the planet on the cover, yes I'm still love with her today. Aloha Hawaii was the cover name. Players were Harry Kaapuni and his royal polynesians. This album, years later, was judged as the best Hawaiian music album ever produced. If anyone out there knows who that gorgeous lady on the cover was let me know, I'd sure love to say, Thanks for the memory.

I've always felt that the Hawaiian style is at its best when blended with the swing dance band music from the 1930s, as on the examples here. That is why, for me, the steel guitar players from this era to the '50s seem so much more interesting to listen to than they have ever since.
