Wow, I would have thought more there then here? Sometime for a very short spell, DSE did have a few retail shops here....not sure how long they lasted though. It would be neat to find an unbuilt kit, they also made a 70cm ver before this one. ~Jack, VEG

I recall using an SWR meter into a dummy load to sample rf to a tester. I tapped into the meter part of the circuit. I thought of simply tapping into the dummy load by running a parellel wire along side the dummy resistor. But I did not have a silly o svope at the time, so it did not materialise. I wanted to use a fteq counter as a digital readout along with the analog tuning dial. So an SWR bridge would have beem an inline way to hook up any rig to a counter. Back then, they sold digital displays that wrre expensive, and freq counters were also expensive. I had tube transceivers with no digital displays.(FT101 and HW100)

I had the Heathkit HW2036 that was very simular to this 2m rig. I liked it too, as well as the Clegg FM27. There's something about such older simple rigs that intrigues me. This would be a nice Packet rig if paired with a KAM or MFJ1278 and a Commie 64 or Apple iie. But don't know if hams still do packet anymore, kinda like rtty or SSTV.

I like Clegg, used to have 2m rig, but don't remember the model...I don't own the KH, but do own one very similar, I showed it in a previous HAM swap video, do have plans on wrenching on it when its number is up, looking forward in using it. I'm not a big repeater user, simplex is where its at for us...so these old rigs will work just fine for us...I do have plans of modifying these old rigs to work on modern day repeaters however...may do a video on that someday. ~Jack, VEG
