2:11 did you just... say "1.665 WORKING hours"? I hope that was a slip up because that's Watt hours, not working battery life. That's 3.7v * 450mAh = 1.665Wh. Sorry, not a very good electronics "geek", mistaking Wh for anything other than watt hours...

Don - I have had a chance to see it in action playing with the amp since this video was posted and it works great! My A/B switch has a center ground position and a few times I forgot about it and parked there and TX'd, the hi SWR light came on and the amp did not TX. I have also had it come on for hi temp as I had been running it with out a fan on it....I now have one on it...it too shut down the amp until safe. ~Jack, VEG

Howdy - 6 meter is active, I have worked local phone both FM/SSB and I have started to play with FT-8 and made a lot of contacts...I also sometimes put a 6 meter rig in the YLs car and talk to her as she buzzes about on simplex. Depending on your area, it may or may not be active, check these cool sites for activity and use the filters to select your band and mode. pskreporter.info/pskmap.html & www.dxwatch.com ~Jack, VEG

The legend has returned :) This thingy looks just like a Matsushita cassette deck, with the cassette mechanism swapped for an 8-track one. And that might actually be what it is. Although I see no Matsushita caps? The nasty purple/blue things. Greets, Wes.

@@VintageElectronicsGeek I dove deep into these older digital cameras over the past few months and it's been a lot of fun. I started with the Sony DSC-F707 because that was my first digital camera that I always regretted selling when I went into Nikon APS-C DSLRs. When I saw how inexpensive these old cameras are I started picking up some models I'd wanted but never gotten: Sony DSC-F828 & R1 and Nikon 8700 & D200. Then I found some other interesting models to snag: Nikon 990 & 995, Canon Powershot Pro 1, and finally this Sony D770. Many of them have really surprised me with their image quality, especially the Sony F828. It has become one of my favorites to shoot now and it's easy to get into infrared photography with it due to a hack of the Night Shot feature. If you like 5MP and under cameras, check out a Sony F707 if you haven't. It's still a very capable camera and has the fun infrared/night vision capability.

The program change solenoid is drawing a lot of current as shown by the lights dimming when you hit the button Jack. If its not moving far enough to reposition the head to the next track its probably a mechanical issue with old grease. Looking forward to seeing more of this unit!! Take care and all the best, George

My main man Jack, so good to see you back in action. Was beginning to think you disappeared from the face of the earth. That or Mrs. VEG would not let you come out and play anymore. LOL Interesting video. Those 8 track players were notoriously picky when they were new and given that both the mechanism as well as the media is getting a bit old, well they tend not to perform as well as they once did. Make sure the foam strips are in place on the tapes themselves, these are usually MIA on old carts. The solenoid should move a ratchet type device which makes the head go up and down. That in itself is a pretty funky setup. Oh and those gooey belts, I haven't seen any like that on an 8 track but several on cassette machines. :)

All a lie? Sadam used chemical weapons multiple times against Iran and the kurds in his own country. Basically trying to commit genocide. They also found a bunch of chemical aviation bombs, shells and warheads. He would block UN inspectors after desert storm. I’m sure they would of found weapons of mass destruction if allowed in. When operation Iraqi freedom happened saddam sold his chemical and biological weapons to Syria. The weapons used in Syria where matches very close to ones found in Iraq big rumors where they got them from. Also Sadam raped women and children and killed families I’d they didn’t obey. He tortured families and kids. Now I know they didn’t find Nuclear weapons but there where many reasons to try and help iraq.

@Snickerszn the US was aware that they used bioweapons for a long time. The justification for the war was all of the place because they were desperate to find one. Which one was it, the nonexistent wmd or freeing Iraq which left it in ruins.
