Just to say Alex Jones is not only beautiful but a lovely person as well. She was 2 years older than me in Maes yr Yrfa school - a small secondary school in Carmarthenshire - and she was such a nice person. Ambitious yes but never in an unkind selfish way.

I had the pleasure of sitting next to her on a flight from Gatwick to Dublin about 5 years back. We actually had a great chat for the entire journey. Admittedly, I never watch the One Show or didn’t know much about her (although I did know who she was) but it was the first time I ever had any sort of in-depth conversation with a celebrity for as long as we did. It was quite refreshing to see that she wasn’t in any way “above herself”. It was a very pleasant hour or so.

@@Killerkwoi13 Maybe it's just the way it's been edited but I have no idea why she re-iterates "99 pence John" at 1:30 as if he hadn't been following the story or something - it's clear from his perplexed reaction that he doesn't understand why she said it either, and doesn't know how to respond. 1:54-2:07 proves beyond any doubt that he had no idea why she was asking if he was in, and was actually kind of irritated by it. I don't know what her intention was but it was an awkward moment that should have been left on the cutting room floor.

@@outsidespac3 I think she was trying to make it look like she was buying time to think up the rest of the story. I've noticed that she would do little tricks like that. For example: when they would be saying how they know today's guest, she would react to the stories of her fellow team members as if she believed them even though it turned out that she was the one who knew the guest.
