As an adult, I have found it helpful to listen to things that I am familiar with and find entertaining on repeat. If it were boring to listen on repeat, my brain would get too bored and become alert again, leading to an endless cycle of insomnia. They thought she was lying cause most people know that Costa Rica is a country and not in Spain. Basically if they thought she was lying they assumed she was more knowledgeable than what she was. If she was 17/18 when she made the mistake I would have increased those odds.
