i swear, if producers used amber's voice more like on shadow, stand up and when i'm alone it could probably be good! one of the problems with kpop music is that they want to shove (a little) rap on every song (even when it's completely impossible, like all night) - eg. red velvet discography, with irene. i like her rap on my style, chu and ice cream, it really fits the song, idk. she could have made a lot of good background vocals with her voice, her tone really fits some of them.

being a 2nd gen stan, i rarely see videos made about groups of that time that are not active anymore so this was reaally nice and funny. but all jokes aside, i feel like this was particularly harsh on amber, not saying she didn't ruin those songs, im saying it's partially not her fault, because no matter how good u can rap, u can hardly slay the rap lines written at that time, even now, i feel like most rappers ruin good kpop songs, like irene and yeri lines in red velvet, minho in shinee, nct dream rapper line in some singing focused songs , sehun in exo , and the list goes on. companies need to include visuals in the group, and when they can't do anything , they slap the rapper title on them and give them few horrible line for the member to get screen time. For me , this ick is very strong with red velvet , since they sing sooo well and their melodies are so nice, but u have that mandatory three words rap that just really makes me wanna commit a crime against their producers.

Everybody’s so harsh towards amber when it’s literally most K-pop 2nd gen songs were ‘ruined’ by their rap verse, not just f(x). A lot of companies would just shove a rap verse into a song, regardless of whether the song needed a rap verse or not, and amber seems to have gotten the short end of the stick with what the company gave her. I actually love amber, I’m not saying she’s a good rapper, but I don’t hate any of her parts? At least, I don’t think the song is completely ruined when she shows up. in my opinion: Korean music has (especially girl groups) the damn idea that all groups should have a rap even if it's not necessary, they force it (just look at the case of SNSD, Red Velvet or TWICE), Amber is very talented and it feels like a waste what they did with her in some songs, in some her rap is excellent and in others it's a disaster. Sm and her producers failed, however in her solo she shined with all the nuances and genres of her voice and it turned out well. K-pop should stop forcing raps in their songs, especially in ballads.
