Did Apple RUIN this Design? - 1st vs 2nd Gen iBook

I have a first generation iBook (Blueberry) with a matching Blueberry case, and an actual SECOND generation iBook (Indigo) in almost pristine condition. Your snow iBook was really the THIRD generation, and your iBook G4 a FOURTH generation. When I bought the Indigo from eBay, it was advertised as a Blueberry, and was offered at a very good price. Imagine my startled DELIGHT when I opened the box to find a faster iBook with a bigger hard drive than expected, in near-MINT condition...😲😲🤯🤯

No one ever brings up the fact that the G3 clamshell logo was oriented based on the handle, so when you'd be carting it around like a briefcase it would show off your Apple logo.

The thing I don't like about the iBook g4 and the g3 snow is that the mouse button is almost the same size as the touchpad. Idk why the button had to be so big

I prefer the snow iBook, the clamshell does bring back lots of nostalgia though.

I really wish there had been a more compact laptop with the Clamshell's design language, even if it had meant downgrading to a 10 inch screen... I know early G3 Snows were technically still transparent so you could disassemble them, strip out all the white paint and paint the inside a transparent color for a cool look and the top half of the shell with the screen WILL transfer onto a G4 but sadly the bottom casing won't. :( I have an Indigo iBook Clamshell SE and it's my one of my most prized possessions. I even figured out how to upgrade the optical drive to a more modern DVD drive, though sadly I don't have a good way to clip the drive cover onto the end because the tabs are in different spots. Maybe someday I'll learn how to do 3D print stuff so I can get that handled... I'd love to do the screen upgrade too but the last time I tried I lost a 466 MHz logic board. >_>;
