It’s a book called Ethylene: The Rise And Fall Of The 139TH ST NFL Crew that goes in depth about all of this. It was a lot of treachery surrounding Big L (R.I.P), his brother Big Lee (R.I.P) and the whole 139TH ST crew. The guy that killed Big L, Big L tried to set him up to get killed prior to Big L losing his life. It was so much going on in Harlem during those days.

Way more stories they can never tell on here, because of statutes for some of the cats involved. The little bit I was around before leaving Harlem in '99, I can verify there is way more that the public will likely never know. You had to have your head on a swivel even in front of your own building back then.

They cut it out because there was a part in the story where Mase said, "It's over for Big L," and they didn't want that part to be misinterpreted. Someone could use that clip to support the theory that Mase was responsible for L's death.

I'm a disciple of Big L's NOW because when he was alive i was too young. Im thirty seven so everyone younger than me who enjoys L's mellifluous measures of incontestably rich _bon mots & double entendres_ is in that boat Mr Giles is referring to. That's a lot of people . That's a true testament to Big Ls craftsmanship
