Liked the format. But we need more maps! What are your thoughts if Dice took elements from some of the old 2042 maps and created new one's ie. a second hourglass map built around the stadium? I mean as extra maps. Everyone seem to belive that we will only get one new map with season 6. That way it should be alot quicker for Dice to create more maps.

This is exactly how EA conned everyone (put more time and effort into the trailer then the actual game play) And I ducking seen it right from the start before release and the People who are like brain dead zombies over a trailer that has fuck all to do with actually playing the game should feel like pricks 👌😋 It actually winds me up

It's such a missed opportunity that they didn't just use the whole city as a map instead of the dessert. When I first saw the images of hour glass I actually expected it would be a city map, so you can imagine the disappointment seeing only 5 % of the map was in the city and the rest desert.

I feel that way with all the battlefield maps. I know it would be boring if they included a whole city map as everyone would be too spread out. But I'd love to see different sections of the map in different versions. Hourglass stadium could be its own map. Or like on Orbital, there could be battles out among the naval ships.

One thing you didn't mention is how incredibly close attackers are to the first objectives in breakthrough. Less running is good, but defenders really have to spawn in immediately. No time to check load out, just spawn in and enemy is already on your face. Good, less running straigh into action, first objective doesn't end the match. But bad... Well you're always going to lose the first objectives as a defender with no real chance. Next objective is tough so maybe it balances out.

There is also the third sector, which cattle herds you into crossing one of two open stretches of sand against an entire line of headglitches and then huddle under a bridge. That one is my favorite.

Didn't expect your views on the whole stadium thing to be so wrong, since you are usually spot on, but whatever. To make it short, as you said, putting the stadium there would require a complete rework of the desert part of the map and that is pretty much exactly what has to happen to actually make this map good, since the lack of structure in that area has always been the problem here. Therefore this (minimal) rework, that we have gotten instead, is somewhat lazy. They did bother to reposition the oil rig on Breakaway and did adjust most of the map around it, I see no reason why the stadium should be any different.

They could have added a Subway under the main road between the Skyskrapers. That twisted out into the area of the freeway, but beeing blocked by the broken bridge area. Or what they have in Kaleidoscope that underpass with the elevators. Have some connections under the buildings, like maintenance tunnels. This would open up for the 128 players map.

Imo what they should have done is put the stadium in the middle and remove the buildings. That way you can cap flags and play around the stadium or live in it and fight over 2 flags within it. Past bf games and battlebit do this well, most bigger maps have a chaos area in the central part where infantry can fight and then some more open areas around the sides for flanks and vehicle play, it's not rocket science lol

On rush 3rd phase, the attackers see directly in defenders base and can easily spawn camp and spawn kill ...its awful

Thing I really dislike about the new rework is how exposed the US vehicle spawn is. RU vehicle spawn gets tons of cover and they also get funneled into 3 points B1C1D1 meanwhile US has to cross open desert in order to get to those same points, leaving their vehicles completely exposed to enemy anti-armor with no way of breaking LoS.

The dumbass Devs don't realise that making spawn areas a long strip of out of bounds sandwiching the map causes terrible spawn camping and vehicles who have no reason or opportunity to move

In breakthrough, if your team is lucky enough to finally smash through the B sector, you will certainly get slapped on the C sector. Even if you flank, you won't be able to get any meaningful kills because It's so difficult to flank towards the actual point. There are way too many angles and lines of sight are way too vast. Having points sitting in the middle of 360 degrees of elevated terrain (with a bunch of defense vehicles) is a huge advantage for defense.

Good video. It plays and looks much better. But I still think it had way more potential than you think it did. We have very nice assets with the building and stadium that are either scrapped or non utilized. The two E1 and F1 are a let down. I think one should stay on top of the building. It would have been nice to see some new indoor flags like shanguai. G1 is interesting though. Between A1 and G1 they could have kept the old D1 assets. Or put the non used buildings with the crane that are now on fire. When you move around in a chopper the rest of the city and the cranes makes me think of all the potential it could have had. I was hoping for a bigger ovehaul like Breakaway had. I still like it and won’t skip it now

128 cq version is a clusterfuck Terrible respawn coverage, especially A1 and B1. You can literally spawncamp other team with almost zero coverage for spawning soldiers. At the same time, especially A1 is way too close to spawn so you can also cover it from spawn area much easier. At least B1 is underground so you dont have direct visibility on it (feasts for wildcats) Also as you mentioned - that empty space on south part of middle points is even more useless than empty swats on old map version. Pretty much anything south from the arches is bad, I think there should definitely be some more coverage or at least partial coverage you can use. Also vehicles feel really really useless here, even if I'm not a fan of using them, this map is feels like there is no real place on it to actually do decent tank fights.

NAH BRAH!!! They could have totally used the Stadium! You rotate the Stadium to face the towers and you replace it in the A1, B1, C1 space. The parking lot area would be C1 and the Stadium could be split into to flags for A1 and B1. Then the Highway flag that is C1 gets moved to D1 and wraps downward south instead of just straight east. So yeah you could EASILY use stadium.

[Conquest] My main problem with the rework is that the only places you can spawn vehicles is at the deployments near A and B and you can spawn at least 3 tanks and 2 helos so A and B just become World of Tanks. And it doesnt matter if you run engineer, a single engineer can hardly take out one tank, but three tanks?? and of course no one else runs anti-tank so it ends up always being me dying to vehicles on this map. and there's also so many hills for tanks to just sit on shooting down into objectives. the left side just feels like a vehicle map with Infantry as an after thought. And even though there is more cover, it still feels at times that you're caught in the open with nothing to stand behind. Objective C is probably the worst. there's almost no cover and the spawns for C put you in the middle of nowhere without cover to the north of C and you just always die. It's better than before - I at least dont back out if it comes up, but it still isnt great.

Honestly, no. I havent played breakthrough yet, but they completely fucked the conquest layout by making the map smaller while still retaining the same amount of vehicles, and there's hardly any cover when you move between flags so you're fucked anyway, just like before

Very "meh" redesign. I think ultimately this map needed to have the stadium moved closer to the city. A lot of work, but the only way to fix this map IMO.

Conquest layout has some weird flow because there are two spawn areas for each team but vehicles can be spawned only on the west side. And as it usually is, everyone wants to spawn in a vehicle at the beginning of a match so majority of people fights on the west and the skyscrapers part has few players. It usually escalates but still I have an impression that the main action is usually away from buildings.

It looks like Dice made BF2042 maps for snipers, headglitchers and campers only. Even TDM maps are huge and full of houses and camper points.

It should've always been the map with high rises, helis circling buildings like the trailer. People jumping off and recycling cap points like the bf4 map with the tall building levelution. It ended up being a desert crossing sim.

Theres still that big ass desert space in the middle of the map. They could've scattered around destroyed tanks and semi trucks at least. Not only the stadium, but the removal of the village square was a poor choice as well. And why relocate the rooftop objective? It was fun watching the elevators and picking off dudes on the zipline.

Yes, the recoil in bot lobbies is so strange. I learned that recently. I was checking out the new map and also wanted to easily farm Irish skin and I spend many days researching and trying to fix the recoil because obviously I didn't want to play with this kind of thing in a real match. After many days of failing to fix it I realized it's not a problem in real matches and portal... I was so confused.

wish this had been more of a city focused map with the arena being the focal point. Maybe this couldve been a place where a mobile missile launch sight was set up in the arena for cover and would have been interesting to fight in. It wouldve added more to the story of the map as to why it was being fought over. Realistically, an arena wouldve been in the city with parking garages around it and shops/office buildings to fight in and around. Hope this is just the work of the skeleton crew. If this is the best they can do I have no hope for Battlefield 6 being anything better.

Running Simulator map got fixed and turned into a .... running simulator map I know ya gotta have room for vehicles, but as infy you are just so open, so staying around the bridge/highway is the best idea. Also the "Infantry Only" area is literally a hallway ... that is only like.... 30 meters long?!

NGL, I didn't have a issue with hourglass pre-rework. It felt like a typical Battlefield map to me. Felt like a combination of silk road and dawnbreaker.

Okay, Here are my thoughts about the Rework; Logistically I am disappointed that DICE is Downsizing a lot of their Massive maps, Which is what battlefield is known for. I find it silly that 5,000+ Employee's Could not realize the lack luster of a true Map potential... The "Out-of-Bounds" & "Map design Layout" Restrict the player from multiple area's for Sniping, Vehicle Combat and much more... The Hourglass Rework in my opinion is nice they added some key points & Removed the Gigantic Building as an "Objective point." But the problem relays that this Map design should be more focused inside the City. Using the buildings as Cover for Vehicles and Jets would have to bob or weave between buildings. (Similar to "Dawn breaker" From Battlefield 4.) (A little bonus hint: I kind of wish they would bring back the battle pickups.) Personally; I dislike the Rework. A major reason is that there are fewer vehicles to enjoy the game I would have expected that 2042 would have released the Lockheed Martin RQ-170 Sentinel that is teased on Boot up on the Connecting screen. It was supposedly a way for the players to Control an Attack Aircraft that could deal with vehicles far better than the F-35 or SU-75 Flanker. (The 30MM) Is a joke and the spread is not damaging enough to contest with vehicles or make vehicles fear the Aircraft being in its crosshair. They Allowed the A-10 return as this was a potential Comeback for a Famous US Aircraft; And for the RU Side could be the Sukhoi Frogfoot... Unfortunately these are locked behind the Portal Game-mode and cannot be added. I'll admit I am a bit salty, But my goal is to assist 2042, As a Game/Veteran & Loyal Fan of Battlefield. There are estimated 5,000 Employees at DICE / DICE LA roughly, and I am disgusted on what the lead development team is doing. They are "taking" A potential video game that we could love, & Down scaling it to feel like a "Call of Duty" Map... *Again *Logistically the company is in a financial bind & What they are doing is actually taking away from the players less, Increasing the Vehicle count. Adding specific Clutter to the "Large Conquest Mode." where you have multiple points to enjoy and perhaps make matches "Longer" The Match making is terrible because we still constantly end up loading at the very end of a round, Only to load back into the Match Making process. (That should be fixed by extending the Longevity of the battlefield Time mode.) I actually find myself playing Portal more often than 2042, Because at least it gives (Partial) Control of what the game modes are like... I just really wish that DICE / EA would consider one thing. "Stop" consolidating the Map sizes, because the more you do that the shorter or map sizes are not various. (Personally: I enjoy the large maps, Gigantic maps.) Because then it makes me feel less Claustrophobic so, I can tactically think of going in "That" Direction. Rather than be receded by an "Out of Bounds" Notification and "Return to battlefield." if you are going to create Background locations; It's logic to add the Flexibility of going into that direction otherwise. The "Open world" Freedom battlefield is known for is stripped. The only Argument I could face, Is they are listening to the players they are listening to the fan base, But ask yourself deep down are they actually going to make changes to appeal to logistics or are they just setting themselves up for Self Sabotage. (We would prefer to avoid another Hard-line.)

Honestly since the stadium isnt incorporated into the map it would have been better to just get remove all the assets over the to creat space to put those 2 little towns apart of the new lay out with 2 extra flags in the middle.

Jamas hubiera pensado que en bf3 (fue mi primer juego de la franquicia) en algun momento los desarrolladores iban a "rehacer" algun mapa por que supongo habia un mono probando cada uno de los rincones de los mapas antes de sacarlos, ahora parecen tener mas peso unas cuantas personas quejandose 😢

In last bf podcast they said that reason why stadion not in rework, becouse it was only in gen 5 and for old gen it would be really hard to make ir work with the stadion Also, they said rhst s6 map will be really great but they couldnt really say anything about the new map, but in coming weaks we will hear about it

This map analysis was great but it was mostly into an Attackers perspective, it would be interesting to see it from the defenders perspective beacuse some of the disadvantage as an attacker I found it reasonable and I may change opinion looking at from the other side

I think that antartic map is even worse than hourglass was. Talk about no cover, you are constantly getting sniped from campers everywhere on top of you. It’s not a big deal on conquest, but on breakthrough it makes you want to break your controller

I think it definitely improved (from a conquest perspective - barely any other experience), but as you say the empty space between A1 and G1 still sucks, however i think that is done to create some kind of flow (which has to be done one way or another or else you'd never get anything done with a team of rando's). E1 and F1 still feel kinda meh, not bad not great. What i don't really get is what their whole aim was here. I think Reclaimed (the Zavod inspired map) might be one of the best maps in the game in my opinion yet i rarely ever get to play it because it just never shows up in rotation for some reason... If there's one map that i still dispise its Exposure; another map where everything is really far apart with its detached bottom section, clusterfucked mid section and open field top section. like many people have said, why couldn't we get a bf4 refresh? it had its technical bugs but i think the design was pretty good. technical bugs will always be there in one way or another but now the design in some aspects is also meh

The maps in bf2042 are some of the coolest I’ve seen Buttttt they literally have 0 balance. The games devs literally had to of said “let’s a make for every type of terrain but let’s not make it playable, it should just be for looks”

Hi, good review of the map. I’m away at the moment so not had chance to check it out so this was a good overview. BTW you can easily switch off bots through Portal if you want to do video tours of maps like this.

@@EndersFPShi, select mode and map as normal. Under game mode details make sure only 1 player. Then under AI make sure it says ‘No AI’. Tour around on your own and explore everything. I’m away on holiday at the moment but I’ll send a quick little video short for anyone who wants to do it but will be on my mobile 😂. Done some tour videos on my channel in the past - much easier without the hassle from AI or players. 👍

The rework on the map is worse on russian infantry spawn. You only spawn between 2 buildings each time. With chopper or tank at front spawn spawn kill mayhem

Really likes this type of video Enders. Too bad you didn't do this to the other rework I don't like the CQ layout, and just think they should have left the stadium in and just have the map more linear with the bridge as it is👍🏾 So I only enjoy BT and it's great

no, stadium between A1 and G1 will not look stupid. it just kill performance on weak consoles. This why they do not added it

The map still feels huge in the middle and empty. I want to know why tf they got rid of all the tuk tuks and any vehicle to traverse the map the map is still to big with out them.

I been keeping up with your videos. I reinstalled for this update and this map is just fun. I am finally enjoying the game tbh. Breakthru is great with this change IMO

This map is clustefuck now. There are always 5 or 6 enemies around you. Not to mention snipers from the distance spamming just like in BF1. To me Hourglass just needed to be scaled down, not to rework it entirely.

I think breakaway had the best rework and compared to what they did with hourglass im kinda wondering why they didnt scrap hourglass and redo it. I had a few great matches on breakthrough but it still feels lackluster

Mr. Forehead thinks players are some kind of Architects who will find a Staduim Weird in between that wast open area as it doesn't belong there, I mean the whole city is covered in sand, the whole map is just big sand dunes you barely even see roads and the biggest concern is that putting a stadium in an empty area will look weird ?, Also stadium was the most loved part of the Hourglass. It would have made the map much more enjoyable if they put it there, it perfectly fits there.

I legitimately forget that the other maps have been reworked because they are still terrible, discarded is legitimately worse now than original hourglass imo

If your defending. You already won. Offense is the worst with a poor team. Poor teams are what makes me quit matches. I don't have a lot of time to waste. I get in a hour or so a night so that leaves me may e getting one or two really good matches in. Hell I even went back to bf1 last night but it appeared that only 18 people was playing PS4. Died so much and still had a blast with those trip wire bombs. Those need to be in every battlefield game.

yeah the 3rd sector is fine imo, if anything its a bit too wide and suffers from a lot of headglitches but it wasnt enough to fit in the video i think

I don't understand the hate that the map used to get. I will start by saying I am a conquest player that hates breakthrough only bc there is not enough vehicles and mayhem. CQC forced modes don't feel like battlefield Imo. When I think of battlefield, I think of "large maps with open space and buildings alike". when I see the new remake it feels like its getting closer and closer to being COD with vehicles. Personally old hourglass was by far my fav map. that was mainly bc it was unique in 2042, it was beautiful, the large areas were open yes but still provided cover, and if u wanted to go somewhere just get a vehicle. The new map is a nightmare for pilots. the spawns set you up to be railed instantly, there is not enough cover at the spawns on the southern side to hide behind as a Heli if you are being focused off of spawn. I still enjoy the map but it just feels way to small Imo.

The old version had no cover; Why you lying? Most of the map was empty desert with nothing in it. Also, vehicles shouldn't be mandatory for basic travel in a Battlefield game; There should always be options, which old Hourglass refused to provide.

@@dragonbornexpress5650 ok first off man, lying and having an opinion are 2 diff things.. with that said, the hills were enough cover if you played the game right. yeah u would die a lot but having risk is what makes it a challenge instead of spoon feeding you a perfect battlefield experience. plus large open areas are what make it BF and is why its called battlefield and not battleyard.

Hey, can ask why you or other streets don't play portal servers where gameplay is much better then default dice servers? Me personally don't play default servers at all, only portal servers with mild hardcore, much much better experience of the game than dice servers

Hardcore is trash for trash players is probably why you don't see many real players (streamers) playing portal servers.

Honestly, the original hourglass played well on the objectives, but the distance between them is what made it horrible. Also the unoriginality and lack of detail goes for all the maps
