I'm really excited for this restaurant! They didn't add an additional restaurant to Epcot, they just finally replaced Electric Umbrella. I think this restaurant/cafe is really strategically placed with all the new foot traffic that will be going to GOTG. I'm so glad it's decent food! Thanks for the review!

Sometimes is not just about the food, is about the a/c. Also, this may work good for little kids. They can be picky sometimes 😁

While I want to eat in the world showcase every time, my kids and husband are picky little jerks lol. So this is exciting because we can all eat here and I can have something a little more special than puffy pizza, plain burger, or chicken tenders.

I see the need for sure. I have small kids and wanted to eat spur of the moment with them at Epcot once and had a hard time finding a place with kid friendly food and seats in world showcase. My husband and I love love love eating around the world but this would be a great stop with the kids. Plus it has coffee which is a big win for me!

Sometimes I find myself having lunch in futureworld because I’m hungry and not ready to head to the World Showcase. For that reason I can see the need. But in general I greatly prefer to eat in World showcase. I wish this was in MK, which sorely needs a new QS option.

So everyone complaining it shouldn't be in Epcot would be fine with nothing replacing Electric Umbrella? Of course not. A burger/chicken nugget restaurant was taken away and a burger/chicen nugget restaurant needed to be put in it's place for all those people that prefer that type of food. Thank god it's a good burger (and more) place this time.

I can see the need: I was there a couple months ago and the lines for food everywhere were 3 miles long. I eventually gave up (I even tried mobile order but only BBQ was availabe and we are veggie) and waited until we got back to the hotel to find food.

@@toyaliens Columbia is decent, yes. I don’t really like what they have at Sleepy Hollow and I’m also not a huge hotdog person so we haven’t done Casey’s either. We’d rather go to Captain Cook’s or one of the other resort dining locations. EPCOT on the other hand has loads of fantastic options. I just need Tangierine Cafe to reopen (unless it has already. Haven’t been since last May)

I agree as well, especially since the people who put it there are the ones taking EPCOT far from Walt’s vision. I think it should be on the wall with a little plaque or something explaining his original vision, which would be interesting for people to look at while they wait for their coffee/food.

Not a fan of how sterile it looks, but with Electric Umbrella gone, there needed to be a decent buffer. Rainy afternoons are upon us, and there's nothing worse than trying to grab an early dinner at 4:50PM in the middle of the rain and most, if not all, of the booths being closed during a festival, then having to wait for them to "open" back up, then they're only accepting cash until system gets up, you head to the Land and then having to fight the crowds at Sunshine Seasons. Also, you can carry food here and beat the 100degree heat. I'd probably prefer this than eating over a trashcan by Mexico.

Def going to try it. We stumbled upon the site as Electric Umbrella after kids were in a hangry meltdown following Spaceship Earth and the staff was so nice as we had allergy concerns on top of everything. This spread sounds even better and I can nab a coffee for all without falling into a civil war about Star vs Joff amongst the fam. Glad it’s there as a tasty safety net/ recharge station (mental and AC!).

Definitely should have been at MK instead of EPCOT. We love the food of Japan, so we usually eat at the restaurants there and grab some Kakigori as a cool down treat, but nice to know about other options too.

I look forward to trying that chicken sandwich. While I love grazing my way around World showcase, my travel group is not very adventurous when it comes to food. This location looks like it would be ideal, and I think it’s more readily accessible than the offerings at The Land. Always a treat to watch your dining reviews.

We will probably stop there for food, as they offer all their burgers with a gluten free option, and my husband recently developed a gluten sensitivity. So on that front, it’s gonna be a good spot for people that may not be able to have a lot of the food fest offerings.

Definitely need better food options at Magic Kingdom. Hollywood Studios doesn't have too many amazing food options, so at least they are getting a new restaurant too...but come on. MK needs something!

Try the Liberty Tree Tavern with the patriots platter buffet. It’s like thanksgiving dinner. They also serve meatloaf and fish and chips. Columbia Harbor House is also a good option. Look up their menu online.

Yes , I’ll definitely try this new place . I miss the Electric Umbrella , mainly for nostalgic reasons ( I was a CM at Innoventions ) and I wish this new Connections had outdoor seating , I do like the vastness of this place 😊 I think I’ll try the pizza and possibly that yummy waffle 😊

It’s all modern and sleek and doesn’t feel like Disney.😩 It’s like they used an airport for inspiration. Oh well, it will fit in with the Guardians of the Galaxy ride which to me feels like it should be in Universal. Sigh…Disney isn’t going to feel like Disney anymore if they keep this up.

I agree it isn't needed in Epcot. In all my years of going to Epcot (since 1983 or 4) I never stepped foot in Electric Umbrella and rarely eat at Sunshine Seasons. In the before times I would get breakfast at Sunshine Seasons or a quick snack but not a meal. It's all World Showcase for us, even when my son was a toddler he preferred to eat in the countries. As far as the Starbucks, I'm glad they have Joeffreys on the other side, I don't like Starbucks coffee and love Joeffreys. Wonder if the place will be open for breakfast.

that liege waffle reminds me of gaufres I've had in France, pretty good! I think this will be a good one for people not so familiar with the pavilions or those with kiddies who just want some chicken strips and parents who know that and want something elevated from puffy pizza or uber fried foods, haha, so in that respect I get why Electric Umbrella is now Connections. sounds way better than Electric Umbrella food too.

I always eat in World Showcase or The Land, but if you were in a hurry or need something quick before leaving the park this would be nice. I just wish they would add some more nice sit down eating in Magic Kingdom. It makes for a nice 'break' in the day to relax a little. Eating fast food at MK is NOT relaxing or even particularly good.

Had the waffle there in April. That’s all I ordered and waited 20 minutes. Everyone else was getting their meals and the workers just kept passing me up. When I finally got it it was very dry and bland 😢. I was so disappointed ☹️

Although I normally agree 💯% with Molly, I think that in the long term that Connections makes sense as a restaurant there - and that yes - other parks needs more places to eat but this really adds a distinctive place that could appeal to a lot of people. Once all construction is done and GoG has been open for a while, I think it will settle into its role
