Being sober in prison is a huge advantage when trying to stay out of trouble. It not only helps a convict avoid being disciplined but allows the convict to see things in a clear lens and the same goes for out here in the real world! Great segment as usual, Dubs! 💪🏽

Hey Dubs / took my daughter to a Cameo concert in Oakland 37 years ago with her school mates. Seemed like we were the only 7 non black people in the venue!!!!😂 Was a great concert & no problemas!!!!😂 My daughter is 51 yrs. old. Quit everything in 2009. Woke up in county & realized I was done!!! Giving my money to the county & attorneys!!!! Plus waking up feeling like shit every day, day in& day out!! As a man thinketh, book changed my life in prison 4 out of my 6 yrs I spent thinking I was gonna eventually get high when I got out, read this book, basically it says every time in my head I though “ I’m gonna try to stay sober but ima eventually end up getting high”, say “no I’m not, I’m gonna be good”, keep doing that everytime, eventually your first thought becomes “I’m gonna be good” then, your gonna make subconscious decisions throughout the day to point you in that direction: and give confidence at the same time. Been out 2 1/2 yrs and haven’t so much as smoked a cigarette

I swear, prison is Hell for addicts. Like we would rather die than go, because I know if I had gone during active addiction, I probably would've either been dead or caught up in some bs fast cause I woulda done almost anything to get off sick. Like it wasn't even a recreational thing at all most of the time I was in active addiction, it was just about getting off sick and doing whatever the hell I had to do to get off sick. I know there are a lot of drug addicts who hit it off in the pen and really handle their shit, but honestly I wouldn't have it in me to really hit somebody outside of chunkin some dukes with em.
