As someone who used to be Christian this just shows how we ( people who used to be Christian) were forced interpretations and they at face value may be that. I never looked at the verse in Genesis and thought who is "his" here and even considered it was Adam. This was very enlightening.

I think the paradigm is different, when scholars wanna be constantly avoiding any weaknesses to the creator, they will make effort to read the text in all ways possible, and find out that one of the ways is that its about giving the first human his due image ...... but when you aready accept that as a deity someone that can be lifted by earth, limited by a volume of flesh, having need to eat and drink and so on..... you wont care anymore

Brother, it is a mistake to say that matters of the Iman in Allah and the Attributes of Allah (Literaly "Who is Allah and how do we know him) are matters of Ijtihad and opinion, we must follow the salaf in this matter throughly!

@baselhakim2080 Pretty much All noteworthy scholars of the 1st Generation Of Islam after the sahaba (and the sahaba thselves) disagreed with him, and believed about Allah that he has an image that exists, that's why he CAN and WILL be seen in the Akhira, like the massager of Allah ﷺ himself said, and since something that doesn't have an image cannot be seen, therefore Allah has an image, as Allah سبحانه proved about himself in his book and his massager ﷺ proved in the sunnah. Only, it's that his image سبحانه is unlike the image of anything else in creation as Allah said: {ليس كمثله شيء وهو السميع البصير}(الشورى:11). I. E. He has an image, unlike any other image of creation, and we don't know the HOW nor the specific details of his image سبحانه except the attributes he proved to himself.

People forget the context of the hadith that is "slap" If mujsama say no it clearly say (He) refers to Allah ( Astagfirullah) Then what that mean it ist that its attribute ( face) of God And that attribute was one way or other harmed ( astagfirullah). Secondly if we look closely then its clear that What was referenced is relations between the one who slaped and who was slapped. Both were sons of Adam ( as) ( metaphorically ). Amd were created in his image.

Allah has Two Hands, Two Eyes, Shin, Feet and Face. It has been proven with many strong evidences upon Sunnah and Salaf. Alhamdullilah. Negation of this is doing ta'teel of Allah's attributes thereby making one a partial Jahmi.

@Shofixti6163 Nothing wrong with listing them, in fact there's more sifaat. For instance Allah has Fingers, Allah laughs, etc. All from Sahih narrations from six canonical books. Nothing wrong with listing them. If it paints a picture in the head, then just remember the verse "There is no similitude to Allah".
