My family and I live off grid I have 6 chain saws, 2 tractors, 2 4×4 trucks, a sawmill. I keep a stock pile of parts in my garage for all my equipment and I never let any of my equipment neglected for parts or half assing the fix just like your tractor bucket if you fix it right the first time you won't have to keep going back over a broken piece of equipment.

I love Stubbs' comment,"You got this,Dad." The sawmill segment reminded me of Keystone Kops meet Jason Crocker, but you finally got it. You had mentioned that once you move the grain bin that you were going to get a shipping container and make it into an outdoor kitchen attached to the deck. Why not get one after the bin is moved and use it for storage? Or, put it where you want your workshop, use it for storage, and later, a workshop/garage.

I have suggested that several times and to move that monstrosity way back into the woods for storage of equipment, feed, etc.. could have a whole workshop in there too. Then concentrate on the house… in 8-9 months you’d better have a place for a baby. One project at a time, Jason! I can just see you two with a precious child..

Sometimes it’s still better to do something by hand, even when you have a Quitman that seems helpful, because by hand, you can control the details in the nuance, as where the equipment might go in and destroy something - like plastic pipes that are buried

Mam. I am a 60 year old man with 8 grown children and 16 grandchildren. I built a 700 sf off grid cabin for my wife and I over 2 years. I had power tools. But I wanted to prove to myself that if I had to, could without fancy tools and equipment. Sometimes we just need to show ourselves and others that we can if we need to. Awesome jason

Jason, please use your tractor to move the logs onto your sawmill. There are many ways to rig your tractor to load logs. The 2 easiest are: 1. Use pallet forks if you have them. 2. Using 2 Chains, one on each end of your tractor bucket, and then around 2 places on the log. Please be careful.

Consider adding a vertical beams on one side of the saw ridge hook a chain on each end of the log and hook the chains together and a a cable from the chains to a pulley at the top of the beam and then attach a boat winch to the side of the beam and hand crank the winch untill the logs are on the mill....

How about moving the cut log further down the track once the cut is done as far as you can and restart the cut to finish the log? Also could you use a simple set of ramps And come along to get logs onto the mill?

I’ve been binging on Alaskan bush people on max too and literally just watched that episode 😂🤣. He made his saw mill out of a garage door opener and an engine from a mini bike 😂. Definitely one of his better inventions considering he made a bear boxing robot out of cardboard 😂
