Did I build a better Yamaha 2-Stroke dirt bike than Brian Deegan?

On my last podcast with Brian Deegan, I challenged him to a good old fashioned 2-Stroke dirt bike build off #voteforgypsy
We would each take a Yamaha 2-Stroke and with no budget restrictions, build the best bike we possibly could. I had a feeling he was going to old-school, Mulisha spec, so I took advantage of Yamaha's 2024 50th Anniversary YZ250 and gave a modern take to a 90's icon.
To make this happen we first hit the Yamaha GYTR catalogue and loaded up on everything we could make fit this bike. Genuine is always the move. Then we did what we always do, head straight to Motosport.com to get a plethora of special parts and tools!
For suspension we went to MXTech - Dubya Wheels took care of our hoops - Renthal got us dialed in with bars, chain and sprockets - Luxxon got us sorted with some incredible triple clamps and Concept Coatings in Murrieta were able to transform our frame into a 93 throwback, as well as a whole host of Cerakote parts to really make this bike look the part.

I tried some twinwall renthals with the crossbar.. took the crossbar out cause the bars were SO stiff. Felt every shock of a bump. To ridged for me and my wrist

I think a few more custom anodised bits would have really elevated this bike to being unbeatable but I see what you did. You showed that anyone can build a sick bike with off the shelf parts or from companies that will do the work for you. Those radiators were next level! After the votes are tallied I think we need a bonus round, Carson Brown ripping both bikes lowest lap time gets bonus points.

Such a sick build Jase! Love it. As someone who had a 95 i love seeing the colors. Would be cool if the frame was purple but it wouldt have matched the sick clamps and wheels. One of my ktms has like 3 different anodized orange parts and ita frustrating :)

That chick was absolutely shredding on that bike!! Most folks that hop on a 2-stroke can only ride 2 laps before arm pump. She went through 2 TANKS!! A testament to how good of a technical rider she is👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽 The build looks absolutely Flawless but the one thing that is missing was the purple rims instead of the hubs! Everything else was spot on extra legit!
