I learned the hard way. NEVER part with your bike! Just add to your fleet if you need another bike, just don’t get rid of the bike you have bonded with, personalized, customized, have had so many memories and trips enjoyed on. I’m still trying to buy my first pride and joy back (he’s not ready to sell it yet/I did find it). Have kicked myself since the day I sold it. Too much nostalgia to let go of. I’ll probably pay too much to get it back, but I’m okay with that.

Absolutely agree. The dude I sold my first loved vehicle to trashed it and I genuinely feel guilty for selling it.

I feel the same way about my Heritage Softail Classic 😁 I absolutely love that bike! It reminds me of when I was just a kid when my uncle visited my mother one day on his brand new 1965 Electra glide police. That was the day I fell in love with Harley's. I hope to still have it when I draw my last breath 😁

I certainly look once, twice after I parked my bike... and I take a picture of it, and I try to park where I can see it, and I get a little bit anxious when I have to leave it out of sight 😂 I don't own a Harley, but I love what I have.

Lol, I feel the same way. I've also had my heart drop to the ground when something obstruct my vision of the bike and I momentarily think someone took it. Ha ha.

Someone who rides many of the same roads and I still love watching its Smoaks Vlogs. Might glean a few ideas from him. He rides routes and clues you in to landmarks and the things in the area that he loves and you end up looking forward to them

dude my hands went numb and my shoulders started hurtin just watching you ride them low low bars. All good though what ever works for you. I have two bikes I love equally. a 21 RGS that I love love love great bike and a 1998 road king classic. The two bikes are a 100% different feel and vibe. If I'm feeling mellow and just need a nice head cllearing ride always take the Road King.

I will say this. Learning all I have learned about the new H-D touring bikes, I am sticking with my 2017 RGS. There are subtle things about the older bike that I prefer way more than the new bikes. I don’t have to subscribe to anything for gps and other features on the infotainment. Plus the gps is actual satellite gps, not wi-fi based. I also have that radio linked to Sirius Xm which gives me weather and traffic updates automatically. The new bikes are not Sirius compatible. I have Apple Car Play on my bike without a com system. The seat height on the older model is better for me as I’m shorter. I love my Denim Black paint which is no longer offered. The bike is dialed in for how I ride, and I get an average of 65 mpg on the hwy at 75 mph. Plus I like having an actual gauge to look at for speedo and tach. If your infotainment goes out, you have nothing. ( a friend’s 2024 road glide had no picture for 2 hours. Dealerships couldn’t figure it out. Reset the ECM and it worked again. 🤷♂️ but they don’t know why it went out in the first place. ).

Your Comments about what's interesting when its been your norm for so long. You grew up in So Cal and I grew up in BC riding some of the best routes. You and I need to connect and share routes. If you come north of the border into BC I will give you some spectacular routes and you do the same for me. I5 is a quick connect to do this!!

Ive got my 21 RGS and love it. I did love my 15 RGS but needed something new with a few issues it was having. And honestly it wasn't the bike i was looking for. I wanted a red bike but couldn't find on in the price range i need to be at. Now i have the red bike.

I LOVE❤ my RGS and how I have it set up but if HD offered me a brand new CVO RG for my bike for free I would sign that pink slip and start working on my new upgrade list. I also like riding up & down the San Diego coast except Fri-Sun. Too many stop signs & too many pedestrians.

I loved my l bike when I first got it (bought a year ago last month, 2012 vstar 950 tourer). I still LOVE the way it looks, I've been trying to build my Instagram account around making content about it, but after doing some Indian and Harley-Davidson demo rides over the past year, and being able to ride my bike back to back against those other offerings, I've come to realize my bike isn't right for me. Even after the modifications I've done to my bike (full exhaust, New windscreen on the Memphis shades batwing, sattleman seat, intake, ecu tune, etc), I've just come to realize I have different needs than I thought I did. Expecially when I did 1,500-ish miles on the #GreatAmericanConvoy here on the east coast through the Pocono mountains, NJ, NY, CT, and Massachusetts, it's not easy to keep up with Harleys and Indians 😂 So now my bike is up for sale and I'm shopping for a twin cam touring bike, or a high milage (aka cheaper) m8

Nice! The M8's are amazing. Sometimes the needs change and we have to adapt to that. Good luck on your search and ride safe.

Im with you Ryan... i wouldnt give up my current bike for love or money, does she need a few things... absolutely, but would i trade her for something else.. nope, and most people think im nuts because its a 2008 Electra Glide Classic.. its way cheaper to make it run with a new bike than the cost of a new bike. Period. Cheers from the Great White North 🇨🇦

Take a look at a BMW R 18 Trans Continental..... Buy a very low mileage DEMO 2022 or 2023, get the first 4 payments made for you at $333 each and 0.9% interest rate financing..... And find out what a great ride really feels like with out the HD badge..... Honestly, go test ride one. BMW's will need oil changed every 6000 miles, but serviced properly, easily a 200,000 mile or more motor. Do NOT ever take an air cooled motor 10,000 miles on an oil change, even on a full synthetic. Air cooled engine heat breaks the oil down, then the oil can NOT do it's job properly. That's willful neglect. It's hard not to like a BMW R 18 if you like Big Jugs.
