The gist of it is basically: humanity makes contact with aliens, which are divided into herbivores and nazi lizards who eat said herbivores. Herbivores are afraid of humans because we eat meat, cue shenanigans. It’s more complex than that, but I’d recommend reading it. It’s very good.

Nature of Predators, Its a story from the subreddit r/hfy (humanity fuck yeah) and is basically a space opera where a whole bunch of other aliens formed a group but humanity is new to space faring. They'd be treated well except the fact the federation has a enemy which eats and kills members of it. Humanity being omnivores causes a issue as the main antagonist also eat sentient life.
