Yes, you should remind them to be more watchful of ingredient lists on jared goods. If it’s all volunteer help packing the bags some may not be as aware as others of what is or is not suitable. Susan

Joined the scheme but havent taken any bags yet. Just cant afford 17 pound family bags not to be good enough. You can get a lot from Aldi for 17 pound after all. Your videos helped me.

Mine wasn't great this week, I have been getting the £17 one because Iv been feeding my grandchildren during the week. 2 packs of dripping not seen that for years and never used it, i have it given it to a neighbour. A bunch of bananas were unusable and had to be put in the compost. I did get 2packs of salmon but I don't eat fish. I have frozen that and I will give it to my mother when I see her. 4 loaves of hovis that was 3 days out of date. Did I get my moneys worth probably, but it was not the best week Iv had. Yes I would complain that your requesting vegetarian but not getting it, but it is possible that a volunteer has just handed you the wrong bag.

hi Samantha i would mention to them about the cupboard staples not always being what you have requested. i didnt ask for one last week as i knew i couldnt get there to collect. the week before i got the family one but at £17 its not great. its not anything extra to the £8.50 one its just double bags of each so im sticking with the £8.50 one from now on. in the last one i did get 2 massive bags of quorn battered 'chicken type' nuggets though, i think they were 2kg each bag so i was chuffed to bits with them. id say them alone would have been worth at least £6 maybe more. ive requested one for this friday but wont know until tomorrow if ive made the list or not🤞❤️

Yes you can put potato waffles in the toaster, daughter does this all the time. Pecorino is the vegetarian version of Italian hard cheese. I would mention it to them Samantha, they may not even realise these items are not for vegetarian's.

Hi Sam, I always get the veg bags, and I started getting fish and prawns in it. I mentioned it to them, and they said some vegetarians eat fish. I said that's a pescatarian, not vegi. They made me feel so awkward and ungrateful that I've decided not to bother with them now. Very hit and miss with them xx

@danielm6575 oh no I hate that misconception, there is a restaurant near us that had a vegetarian section with 3 fish options it makes me so mad.

@tryingtogetby Grana is a PDO cheese, as is Parmigiano. They tend to follow traditional recipes. Anything called "Italian style hard cheese" of similar, will probably br vegetarian. I'd be annoyed because it's an expensive cheese. It's seen as inferior to Parmigiano, but it isn't really. It's just from a different area.

It wasn't bad but you didn't get a proper vegetarian version which means you didn't get what you paid for. Could you tell me if the pesto is suitable for you out of curiosity . Best wishes from Northern Ireland.
