Yep! I became convinced when I asked Mr. Horvath what towel he uses on his Pebble Beach cars...... #Kirkland. So, if they are good enough for a $300k custom, they are Good enough for me, the hobbyist. That said, I do use several af towels and Next Level rags bc I like the feel. Would I do this if I were a mobile guy? Never! Less overhead=more profit! KIS..... Thanks Darren!

Thanks Darren, Been using the Kirkland MF towels since your recommendation on an earlier video back in the Meguiar's Synthetic Express spray wax days. I detail spray my car every time after driving to get the desert dust off (AZ), body first, then rims and tires. I don't even bother to wash them, just toss in the garbage.

Pretty good system you have worked out. You decommission them as you work and then dispose of them at the end...nice!

Can youdo a video on the different types of pads that are used on the machines? O am confused as to which type of pad to use to buff my car and pish and wax it

Ik u didn't axe me.. I'd advise rotary and wool, then red foam and da. Two step and will look great! However, Darren will have a more precise , experienced opinion, I'm sure. Enjoy!

I'm a bit surprised at how quickly even supposedly "premium" MF open weave cloths begin to leave fibers (or lint?) on the glass - I'm not completely convinced it's because of anything I'm doing wrong. In any case, I'm having great results by FINISHING with a closed weave cloths. By "finishing", I'm referring to the final steak removal, buffing. The particular cloth I'm using is the Gyeon Bald Wipe

I agree with you mostly. I think the term "premium" needs to be clarified. You can have a premium MF cloth based on quality of raw materials, manufacturing processes, thickness/weight, etc., but all of these qualitative points are still vulnerable to washing/drying by nature of still being MF technology. I too can be discouraged with my "premium" MF cloths degrading at a rate that I don't like. Which then leads me to think that perhaps I have unrealistic expectations of even "premium" MF...which to come full circle, is why I default to the Kirkland brand as much as I do.

Thanks. I'm actually wondering whether the open weave cloths MIGHT simply be picking up lint in the wash (despite the fact I do wash them separately), and then releasing it onto the glass. I wonder whether a microscope could tell us definitively whether the fibers are from the cloth, or just general lint? Admittedly, the deposits look rather "even", like the fibers are all of same length, which does suggest they're from the cloth itself.

Off topic...but a coating has just been released that contains "refined detonated nano-diamonds". Darren - I'd like to see you do a video that consists simply of you trying to say "refined detonated nano-diamonds" with a straight face. 😉

On glass those Kirkland microfiber towels are absolute garbage, they will leave lint all over the place. On the rest of your vehicle they can be nice.

Not if virgin. Unwashed brand new, they are surprisingly great on glass...
