I'm just a hobbyist, so although I'd love that last hand I'll buy a finger to start with - I only do my own nails and have no plans to make a career of it, so a finger feels like a better investment for me. I've been having such a hard time deciding what to get, so this video was super useful! Thanks for taking the time to make it :)

I love practice hands and fingers! I became a nail tech during 2020 so I relied so much on them to practice. The finger seem to be an excellent choice for you!

I’m so glad I found your video. I have that same stand clamp and I can’t get it to stay suctioned to my desk for more than a few minutes.

Great detailed review. I am gonna pick up a finger ☺️ my favourite practice hand is the Aleana hand, it is coloured so realistic. I also use sticky tape or lint roller to clean it really super quick, picks up dust like it's nothing. Oh also I find curved nail tips inside the practice hands and fingers used as the natural nailplate looks really good and follows the curve of the nailbed. I apply tips and forms on top of that for the best results

thank you for the feedback and advice 🙏🏽 I hope you like the practice finger as much as I do! I have a video coming up next week on how I prep it to practice!

For the forms maybe u can cut a deeper "U" without the tab for extension. Maybe that will allow the form to slide further up the side walls. 🤔😊😊😊 Thanks for this video. Interested in finding a good (for me) silicone practice hand. Need to look around more. 😊💅🏿💅🏾💅🤗

It looks like someone forgot to paint/detail the top of the fingers on that 1st hand. Which is so odd like u said. Only the fingers seem lighter than the rest and with less detail. The palm and even the top of the hand looks detailed and slightly darker in color, but not the fingers. Still looks like a great hand though! And that heavy duty one is probably the most realistic one I've seen so far! Sucks the fingers dont pose and they're so spread out. But still awesome looking! I just got me one from Amazon, my first hand, and I knew it would be much more soft/rubbery than the more expensive brands which is one con, but, so far its working out really good and it looks nice! The only thing Im not looking forward to is having to use gorilla glue to adhere the base nails. The tips do stay in the wells, but they will always still lift up off the silicone nail beds no matter what which just gets annoying sometimes. I havent glued them yet, but we'll see. I wish there was some kinda solution these hand companies would come out with. Give us like a velcro nail tip or something lol. Theres gotta be an easier way! Great video, thanks for sharing :)
@nailarchitect10912 жыл бұрын
Hi 👋🏽 I agree with all your points! It’s annoying that we need to come up with the solutions these companies could really look into… I mean, practice hands are a must ( especially for beginners) yet we need to be worried with keeping the tips from popping off instead of focusing on product applications and filing 🥴 It would be nice to see something affordable, great quality and stuff like this didn’t happen.

@@nailarchitect1091 Yup! So so true. I saw in some other videos that red iguana used to sell their hands with nails already attached. I believe that's what the girl said. And I thought that was a good idea. They may need to be replaced, but at least the dirty work is done for u lol. I actually glued on my tips with gorilla glue afterall right after I left my other comment lol. I realized it had to be done. Surprisingly it turned out great...but...now we'll have to see how often I have to change them. I don't do filing etc cuz I'm all about the nail art so I should be fine, but for those on a budget who need to practice their application of extensions etc, I feel for them. Thanks for the response and chat! New subbie here 🙂

At least something is working out 🙌🏽 Not sure how well you’ll be able to replace the tips on your hand without damage but I’m pretty sure you won’t be annoyed with them popping off in the middle of your creative process.

Thanks for your video I've been looking for that particular practice hand on the stand only because I seen on another video that the silicone it's very durable like if you nik the silicone by accident with your nail file or your nail drill it doesn't tear or shred the silicone like other practice hands maybe you have any information on that and how do you find the durability of the silicone when using a file? ✌🏽👩🏽✌🏽💙
@nailarchitect10912 жыл бұрын
I’d say get the practice hand that comes with the stand because I’ve been practicing like crazy and no damage had been made to it, whether I use an e-file or hand file. The silicone is extremely durable, realistic and because the fingers are spread apart as there are no wires, I find it super easy to work with. Honestly, the best affordable practice hand I have found!

Do you think you'll be able to file on either hand without damaging them?
@nailarchitect10912 жыл бұрын
I do! the self levelling gels I use allow me to minimise the use of the e-file/ hand file, therefore the cuticle area is safe. To me practice hands should be more durable as we use them more as beginners. I am more interested in “making mistakes” and not having to worry if the hand will be a problem too 😅
