Tonight we have an evening on the town here in Pattaya to celebrate a friend's birthday at an outstanding eatery before heading off to Bangkok in search of refurbished sewing equipment. We finally return home with machinery, which by appearance, could be confused with a sweatshop.

Hi Loucous. Great content. My wife worked in an alteration shop on base years ago. She has machines ranging from a 1940's Singer to a digital computerized Singer. We just gave a friend a 1972 Kenmore made of steel to a friend -- my wife wasn't using that one. Great the you got Lahn (sp?) a serger machine. Definitely necessary is she's making her own creations. You can find some industrial strength blind hem machines online as well. Really a game changer. Good luck to Lahn and her creations.

Lan really got many skills, of course, she has to have high-quality sewing machines 👍 I´ve had some fun on my own Singer over the years. It´s funny how much Swedish Corporations there are around the world, IKEA, H&M, and Volvo to only mention a few. Ohh, the fighter jets that flies over your heads, they are Swedish too. Advantages of the separate motor are mainly that the motor bigger and has more power, it can be worked on without having open the machine and the dust and yarn that is mainly around where the sewing and cutting happens is further away from the motor and therefore less likely to be sucked into the motor.

Jeeez those sewing machine motors look like my table saw. Being a UPS driver my whole career, you go in a lot of interesting places. One of them was a shop with about 50 women sitting at machines like these and whipping out sports items. Another big stop I had was a warehouse that dealt in sports hats. They had every pro and college team and would start turning out Super Bowl champs, NBA champs etc. One year the NBA final went down to the last game and at half time one team was up and looked like they had it, so they started sewing World Champs hats only to see the other team come back and win it all. They had to scrap hundreds of hats and start over, they gave me one as a souvenir.

For those prices.. couple hundred.. absolutely buy two or three ! Stateside the cost of two or three might get you one. They beauty is they have the ability to pay for themselves quickly. If those will do embroidery, then you can really get your money back. Just doing embroidery on various items. Very nice 👌

As long as there is one desk top fan which only works on number 1 setting, (and points to the longest serving member of staff), windows don't open anymore than one inch, every computer being used or not are switched on, in fact if its electric it has to be on.....just like my old office........it's not a sweat shop 👍
