I learned to ride on a yellow Honda Trail 90, in 1970, 10 years old!! El Dorado National Forest. My frien Bobby and I rode all over the forest, taking turns. Near Lake Tahoe, my love for riding was cemented that summer! Thank you for the vid, triggered great memories!!

That Cb750 tickles a special place in my heart. I remember a few of my dads friends having very similar builds back in the 90's. Definitely some cool nostalgia and fits the sketchiness a lot of other bikes you've had.

"back in the 90's"??? The CB750 came out around 1969, I had a new one in 1976 and bought a used one in the mid '80's. These bike go forever and are real classics.

I know the CB came out way before the 90's. My first experience and earliestmemories of them are from the 90's They were probably the first bikes I saw with raked out front ends and custom tanks. My dad road typical so cal style stock Harleys. @@tokairic3925

That looks like Hammered metal finish on the front end. Few different brands available but I bet it's cheap rattle can to cover up rust pitting on the forks. It hides a multitude of evils.

Front end is called hammered finish paint. The starter is housed under that chrome cover behind the cylinders/under the intake manifold...
@ZippoVarga Жыл бұрын
Here's an observation. How are you going to shift with the existing exhaust? The original mid mount shifter lever is all but touching the exhaust header. So you may be stuck with forward controls unless you can find a set of headers and pipes that route differently. I always admired those old CB750 Choppers. Dead reliable and still a blast to ride. Cheers Josh! Zip~

The front hub and brake look like Honda ct90, it was common to use them on choppers in SoCal. There was also a “Stop-a-Chopper” system that was worthless. In 1970 I had a Frisco style ‘49 Indian Chief with no front brake. Fun at stop lights on hills with the foot clutch.

Hi Josh, just wanted to share some personal experience. I’ve been to Japan several times for work and have walked and gawked for a bunch of hours. In the places I have been, I have actually seen more sportsters than Honda trails! Doesn’t make sense, but I think there is some displacement tier system that makes anything over a certain displacement difficult to obtain. Anything over that threshold is expensive to get and similarly difficult. Most of what I see are blatantly scooters, as their displacement has tax, licensing, and parking advantages.
@carver7689 Жыл бұрын
IIRC, the cutoff is at 1000cc. At that size & up, you'll have to take an "advanced" license exam after having ridden smaller bikes for a couple of years (I think) and pay higher fees & taxes.
