Lol salty dog. I love Florida. Central Fl and Tampa for a few years. The car insurance is bananas. If you have new drivers on the policy forget it. It’s exclusive in areas for sure, it’s super desirable and rare. Plus the whole state just voted solid red! Florida can be it’s own country more easily than say California. CA has lots of land border. Fl has water, food and guns lol too. I’m a big fan

what is the average age range of people in Naples? thanks
@madukes5414 жыл бұрын
@Dani, keep'n in mind that my Naples knowledge is about 10yrs outdated but up until I left in 2010 50 was probably avg age I'd say. I always thought cost of living/rent was high (until check'n out dif areas across the country) it was actually comparable. I've heard since then rental prices have gone UP!!? But i I managed to make ends meet as a single mom of two on a servers wage/tips for the last 4-5yrs prior to moving out of state. If you have time & patience you can find affordable & more than accommodating housing. Naples was a beautiful place to raise children. Everything & everybody from high end Celebrities (LoT$ of millionaires) finest of dining, best boutiques (downtown Naples; 5th ave shop'n probably puts Cali to shame) and my fav, plenty of outdoor activities like hunting, mud'n, camp'n, swamp buggy races. Quiet or rowdy Indoors or outdoors you can find it there. At least 10yrs ago you could. Hope this helps somehow, was start'n to sound like a sales pitch, LOL. Best wishes

After having lived in Florida for over 40 years, I've seen it change drastically and I'm ready for a change. Summers are looong and oppressively hot and humid, to the point where I hibernate inside in the a/c for months.Too many crazy and rude people moving here from other states, traffic has become horrendous, I-4 and I-95 are death corridors and I-75 is clogged with semis going up and down the state, cost of living has sky rocketed, shortage of housing has become critical. Rents and prices of homes have become so expensive, regular mortals can't afford them anymore. Homeowners insurance has also skyrocketed. We pay about 3 times more in homeowners insurance than in other states. The pay down here, doesn't compensate for all the increases this state has experienced over the past few years. If you have a nice nest egg, you're one of the lucky ones, although most people who move here, don't, and they're struggling. If you find yourself on unemployment, the state pays a maximum of $275 a week. Oh, and education took a hit too. There is a severe teacher shortage in practically every county. I'm just glad, I no longer have children in the school system. Their teachers are underpaid, and have left in droves. You can garden here though almost year round, if that is your thing but the weeds are ubiquitous and pop up anywhere and everywhere, seemingly overnight and it's a continuous struggle to keep them at bay. The only thing I look forward to are the mild winters, all 2 months of it, if that. We do have mostly nice beaches though, but I'm over that too. Most of them are very crowded and parking is expensive now. Used to be able to park for free but that is no longer the case. If you live near the coast, the salt in the air from the ocean will quickly corrode your vehicles and a/c condensers like you wouldn't believe. Further inland, that's not a problem. We also have bugs the size of helicopters ;) bears wandering through neighborhoods because humans keep taking away their habitat, raccoons destroying your garden furniture, and for good measure, we'll throw in some venomous snakes and gators too.

My husband and I said were so glad we live here! I know someone who has money lives in another state there accountant told them to buy a house in Florida if you want protection from estate taxes! And get other tax advantages. So really wished some ppl complaining would move out of state lol! Sure some areas in Florida I wouldn't live they are much more costly to live I live in the country thank goodness!! No one lives close to us 😊

Good video and very fair assessment. Miami has a lot of Latin rivalry at play. Vemezuelans think they're better than Cubans, Colombians think they're better than Venezuelans, and estaiblished Cubans think they're better than newer arrived Cubans snd everyone else. This creates a lot of anger and agreesiveness. Miami has also become very expensive, and a lot of people are living the Miami lifestyle that they can't afford.

The woods and trees are ugly nothing except for Palm trees can take the heat nothing good can grow with the heat and little water. Don’t get me wrong it not the worst place to be it just wouldn’t be my number one choice. People go there one time on vacation and than move instead of checking other places out first. Very well done video sir. I'm from florida, I grew up in St petersburg. Maybe it's because I spent most of my life here, but I look forward to moving someplace cooler. The summers here are oppressively hot and long. I find that I hardly leave the house for many months in a row causing me to be gaining weight and feeling unhealthy. I've lived for short times in more mountainous areas and that suits me better as I am very into the outdoors. There's no good hiking in florida. There is walking and sweating in sand looking at pretty much the same geographic features continually. There's no real diversity unless you go up to maybe the spring Hill area. If all you want to do is sit on the beach, go boating or fishing, then this might be for you, but if you enjoy camping and hiking you're going to be soon disappointed. The one thing I do love about Florida is the freshwater springs! All of our glorious springs are simply magical experiences, but now with so many people moving here, they are often way too crowded to enjoy. Still worth kayaking down the weeki wachee River though!

Problem is people from up North buy property then want to rent for Northern rent. The majority of people here don't make much money per hour that's why they aren't happy - they can't earn a livable wage to pay northern rent prices, it is cheaper to own than rent due to out of state people buying up property. The unemployment isn't low - Florida only provides 12 weeks of unemployment instead of 26 weeks like most states - they can only count you as unemployed if you are actively collecting, if you have not found a job after 12 weeks your homeless and unemployed but not counted. It isn't low - fake manipulation - tourist state.

After years of snow and ice in Indiana, my wife and I moved to a small town near Orlando two years ago. You make some very good points in your video, but I'll add a couple of negatives. First and most of all, not only are the summers extremely hot and humid, but the mosquitoes are horrible. To make it even worse, both my wife and I have actually developed what they call skeeter syndrome -- we have allergic reactions to mosquito bites with constant itching. Second, except for the snow and ice I really truly miss the seasons, especially beautiful cool fall weather. The only cool weather down here occurs in January and part of February -- fall is still hot hot hot. Quite frankly, I'm ready to sell the house and move back north, maybe buy a condo and let somebody else shovel the show. But I'm tired of Florida and it's heat and those horrible mosquitoes.

Some people can't do the weather, but the spring is short and the fall really extends into November.if you live near water, there will be mosquitoes, but if you live in a city, they generally spray for mosquitoes and you can get good sprays for your arms and legs. If you have rainwater trapped in flower pots etc, you will be breeding your own. Dump out any standing water. For comparison, if you travel to the Everglades, the mosquitos will carry you away. Also, since Florida is a long state, the weather is very different, as you head north. Good luck!

Florida morning used to be my favorite vacation spot (Ft. Lauderdale, Miami area) but he is right, Miami is not at all what it used to be, which is really sad. I love the changing of the seasons, sweater weather and cannot stand hot, humid weather beyond the summer months; can’t breathe when in it.

Moved down there in the late seventies when my parents went there to eventually retire......having grown up in the Chicago area there so much of a culture shock, I only made it for a year before running back to the big city. Although they tried for years to get me back there I absolutely refused, would rather live in a cultured environment than a state with such stupid people. Their healthcare sucks, they try their best to funnel the elderly into nursing homes by over drugging them (my personal experience with my mom, who I also had to bring back to Chicago to save her).

I've been in Naples for the last 3 years. I like living here, but I also have lived in Bonita Springs & Estero, both are a very short drive (15-30 minutes) from Naples. In my opinion, Naples may be the most "elite", but the other two are just as close to the water, and are equally as enjoyable if not quite as wealthy.

I lived in Naples for three years while I worked for the veterans administration in Naples. I lived in the Verona walk complex where alligators poisonous snakes insects and panthers roam. I hated it and moved away. Live on a lake in Maine and love it. Naples is for millionaires and those that serve them.

Thanks for this great video, I moved to Tampa/Oldsmar,Fl area from Chicago, prior to living in Chicago I lived in RI. I’m loving the weather. The only two reasons I’m here Is bc of the weather and my husband. I miss living in RI, most of my family members are there and also in NY. Trying to stay positive living here Especially with this Covid virus. I start a new job on January 4th, praying all goes well so I can start saving. Unemployment sucks here.

When I fly to Tampa from Providence to visit my family I thank the flight crew for operating the "Rhode Island State Tax Evasion Shuttle". I love RI. I would move to Narragansett but my current state does not tax my retirement. Also, my property tax and car tax and insurance are cheaper than my in laws in Cranston RI. No place is better in the summer than RI. Best of Luck in FLA.

I'm a LA native . I moved to west palm (del rey) sight unseen literally and I loved it. It's time to get used to the humidity and lizards everywhere. That was traumatizing. Rent was way more affordable. I have a 3 bedroom house for I paid for a 1bedroom in LA. Overlooking its a beautiful place but there no place like home. Great vacation spot ,retire or raise a family. But for a single person use to the fast pace Los Angeles lifestyle...should be reconsidered .. just my opinion

Great video! The good aspects of living in Florida: Weather, beaches, taxes. It is a great place to learn to fly an airplane or join a flying club if you already have a license. Going on the beach on New Years eve is a blast. Same with Christmas. Lots of fresh seafood. If you have kids they will learn to swim in no time. The bad : Wages are much lower, it is best to have a job lined up before you move there. You will be shocked how little you are paid unless you have your own business like the presenter. Many people do not like children as the presenter mentioned. Many retirees apparently move to get away from their children and don't like yours. Many didn't like mine. Stay away from HOAs the rules will drive you crazy. It's very flat. I wish I still lived there but there's an old Yiddish saying, Man makes plans, and G_d laughs. Good luck to everyone!

Dance...yeah, the Proverbs have some wise sayings about plans also, ""In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps." "Many are the plans in a man's heart, BUT it is the LORD'S purpose that prevails." "All a man's ways seem innocent to him, BUT motives are weighed by the LORD." "To man belongs the plans of the heart, BUT from the LORD comes the reply of the tongue." "A man's steps are directed by the LORD. How then can anyone understand his own way?" Hope this helps someone.

I think the reason why people are always angry in Miami is because whatever they do cause so much more and if you have to circle for an hour to get parking and have to make a booking wherever you go it becomes really uncomfortable I would highly recommend you to try the area fort Lauderdale far more like that same environment just so much nicer people in general
