I’m glad you mentioned you didn’t need the HPFP. Many BT setups just need a LPFP and MPI with bigger injectors and that’s plenty. Plus, you get the added benefit of cleaning the intake valves with the MPI which saves you from a $600 walnut blasting job to clean the carbon off of them.
@johndaluga83412 жыл бұрын
Who tf is paying 600$ to blast your valves?
@kylew36432 жыл бұрын
@@johndaluga8341 walnut blasting requires removal and installation of the intake manifold and other components. Along with the walnut blasting procedure. Most shops will charge $100+ / Hr plus parts. The procedure usually takes 4-7 hours to be completed by most shops. $600 is not out of the question and is pretty standard if you call around.

Good video! I would like to give my opinion and build upon what you said in this video: Is it worth it? Like you mentioned, it’s a case by case scenario on if it’s worth it. I would say, if you already have the accompanying mods, such as plugs, upgraded intake (if stock intake get a high flow filter)(upgraded intake works well too), upgraded intercooler, upgraded boost pipes, upgraded downpipe, upgraded clutch (for 6spd manual guys), upgraded TCU tune, and a software tune, then a hybrid turbo is probably worth it, but if you don’t have any accompanying mods, going from a stock car to a hybrid turbo would be very spendy considering you would absolutely need the other mods to make it reliable, on top of a tune and LPFP upgrade. All in, going from stock to hybrid turbo setup that’s reliable, you’re looking at a $6-8k build. That’s a lot! But if you already have the accompanying mods, you’re looking at $3-4k which isn’t bad. So in my honest opinion, going hybrid from stock isn’t worth it, purely from a price per performance perspective. If already modded, it is.

What tune did you go with for the is38/ MPI set up? Also, EQ tuning said I can’t run MPI with the Vortex and their tune for my 1.8t alltrack. They said I would require HPFP/LPFP and no MPI.

Absolutely killer setup. I just got a mk7 and have it stage 2 tuned, and am wondering if I go bigger turbo and e85 would the stock engine handle it or would I have to swap out some internal parts? Besides the high and low pressure fuel pump
@HaydenCroix2 жыл бұрын
For a hybrid turbo to run e85 you would want a low pressure fuel pump and an mpi setup. The stock hpfp should be fine. The engine can handle 430 ft lbs of tq and around 550-600 whp. This is at its limits though. A safe number would be 500 whp and 400 wtq

@@HaydenCroix That’s great! Really not much different than the standard stage2 car. Wonder if MPI would make a difference.
