Great setup Chuck. I’ll be on the air hopefully soon camping with my G90 & IC-705. I’ll probably bring an EFHW & and a 9:1 random or vertical. Enjoyed the video as always. 73 de KK4LBJ.

A man after my own heart. KX2 and the FT710. All the accessories and antennas never seem to be enough when we pack and then on site the realization that we bring way too much stuff. Excellent video chuck.

Aloha Chuck, I ❤ this video. I ❤ how the RV came out, it looks brand new to me but you must understand that we don’t have RV’s here in Hawaii. The closest we have is a Sprinter converted to an RV here. You had your 710 sitting on a beautiful green box on the picnic table, where did you end up getting that from. I bought the Powerwerx box with a 30A/h Bionino battery from Dave VE3SDU, who was stationed here in Honolulu for 3 years with the Canadian Military and couldn’t fly with that size back to Canada. I recently bought a second battery box and just need to buy another LifePO4 battery to put in it. So I’m putting together 3 radio go bags, 2 for my G90’s and the third for my new PMR 171 QRP “Shack in a Box” go bag with my XPA125B 100w amp. For your ground spike, I would add a large flat washer and then use a 3/4”socket to hammer it into the ground. It would helpful to wet the hard ground with water before hammering the spike into the ground, maybe an hour before. I now use a Wrist Rocket to shoot some 60lb fishing line up in tree and connect that wire antenna you gave me. I’ve been super busy lately and haven’t had time to play with my IC-7200 and my 991A yet. That’s about to change cuz I bought my wife tickets to Japan and Guam to travel with her childhood friend who is a military contractor for the USAF and USMC. So I’ll have 10 days to play some radio and no one to bother me during that time. BTW, I’ve never been to Yellowstone before but if I did, that RV would absolutely be perfect! 🎉 I hope you, Steve and the rest of the gang have an awesome time and get to shoot a ton of video for great content for the next couple of months! 🤙🏻
